tdpriest 115 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) Dolphin Dream set out from Palm Beach, Florida, last week. Once more in search of the dolphins and sharks of the Little Bahama Bank, bearing Brits under the benign eye of Charles Hood (now well-known in Cornwall for his own shark-diving trips) and the glittering eyes of skipper "Scott" Smith (well-known for the Shell Dance, of which the less said, the better). A little wind and rain marred the first few days, and the dolphins, having acquired a sense of photographic mischief, turned up at twilight, but the usual suspects, lemon sharks at Tiger Beach and reef sharks on the low reef at "Fish Tales" were happy to swirl around bait, old hands at shark photography and new initiates into cage-less shark diving. Alex DD is a lot more comfortable, the wrangling was good (but rather more laid back), and the pool was open! My feelings were that it was less intense on DD, and perhaps less dramatic photographically (although I was trying for stylish, flowing shark shots, and not teeth "in your face"). lousmith 0 Posted April 28, 2013 (edited) Great shots, I can't wait to go back on dolphin dream, such relaxed diving and like you say very comfortable. Nice photos! Getting in the water with the dolphins at night was an experience I will never forget. I was slightly wary of any rogue ** sharks at the time though. It's good to hear from you: but I think your fitness technique is too drastic to recommend... ... we did have a good time, but it was a bit strange to find that being in the water with sharks was more important to most of the group than getting the images. The dolphins were very thin on the ground, appearing at sunset when the light had gone... ... sneaky buggers, as we say on this side of the Atlantic.
