Drew 0 Posted August 6, 2013 The authorities on Réunion Island have decided to cull sharks in response to a few shark related deaths at the tourist beaches. Instead of closing beaches, the authorities have decided to cull 90 sharks in the next few weeks, regardless of species. This is an outrageous reaction to the tragic incidents in the last few years. Please help by signing this (French) petition on Change.org for them to stop this culling immediately. Here is more background information on the issue: http://huff.to/1cGGUp1

Could you sign and share this one as well, please : French petition to stop the slaughter Policy is the following : no necropsy = no ciguatera program (= no cull) because veteriarians are the one to be authorized to do it (in France) and they can refuse to make part of this stupidity. More info there : Save Our Sharks La Reunion 2nd round and there (about ciguatera) : Save Our Sharks La Reunion Sibylline - Faune marine is working to stop this archaism, with his representants on the island and needs your support.
