Panda 3 Posted August 23, 2013 I received this email today. Is it a legit request for image use? The attached W-8 is a tax form with 7 pages of fine print. Hi Andrew, We'd like to use the attached Canberra image in Sport Diver Asia Pacific's Sept/Oct 2013 issue. May I please have the high resolution file? I've also attached a W-8 for you to complete when you can. Please email it back with your phone number. I'll use your contact information to send you our stock photography contracts. Sport Diver Asia Pacific is a digital, subscription based, password protected publication. We're licensing for an audience of 30,000, but because it is new we're nowhere near that number yet. JimSwims 31 Posted August 24, 2013 Hi Andrew, yes they are legitimate and I have had one image published (in the US magazine) and promptly paid for plus a second request for the same image in the Asia Pacific digital mag. Nice to deal with a magazine that pays quickly, vastly different to another magazine publisher that I had the unfortunate honour of being published by. I'm on page 6 but Alex Mustard pipped me for the cover!- http://pdf-giant.com/sports/25431-sport-diver-june-2013.html BTW if you don't ask they pay by check and the local bank will slug you up to $50AUD They can do a wire transfer which is $35USD If they look like they might want a few of your shots you can get payments rolled together to reduce bank gouges. Cheers, Jim.

errbrr 73 Posted August 26, 2013 Yeah, you don't need to fill in the W8 either. Let them know you will be paying Australian taxes and not USA ones, because you are resident here. Good job on the sale!
