Changed my mind, I can sell arms also. What would you like. I have a double tray with ball arms. Here is one arm kit for example:

SA100 Product No. 4086.61 used $90
Includes ball at release handle, two clamps, one 6 in (15cm) extension, two clamps, and mount for Ikelite DS50, DS51, DS125, DS160 or DS161 strobe. Overall extended length of the arm is approximately 14 in (34.5 cm). MSRP $160

There is not a special charger for the DS51 as it uses standard rechargeable AA's. I recommend Eneloop.

Hi there

They are nearly the same. They have the same power rating, size, weight, and appearance. Both use 4xAA, both do full TTL, both recycle in 3,5 sec. The only real difference is that DS51 has additional positions on its selector dial for fractional manual power, where the DS50 is Off, TTL, Full.

Hi again-

I just lost an e-Bay bidding for a hardly used DS 50, cable, and arm for $177.50. This is the price range I need to be in. I can pay up to $200 for a DS 50, cable, and arm. Would you sell me your equipment for that price.

Thanks for considering.

Well, I admit I'm a little confused. The Ikelite product pages indicate that SNs below 63850 don't operate properly with eTTL circuits nor can they be updated to do so. However, you and I exchanged notes before and you indicated there wasn't any difference between the DS 50 and DS 51 other than manual power settings. Did you use them with the eTTL electronics in your camera housiing and connect them with the Y cord you were selling earlier? What camera were you using?

Thanks.

Hi, I used these strobes both singly and as a pair with the sync cords 4103.51 (still for sale) and 4103.52 (dual). When used with the appropriate Ike housing and cord, and the strobes set to the TTL dial position, these provide full through the camera TTL. This is also stated on the original DS50 page here :

"The DS-50 operates TTL when connected with appropriate sync cord to applicable cameras or housing"

http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/substrobe_dig50old.html

My combination was an Olympus 5060WZ and Ike housing 6130.61 but there were many for which full TTL was provided.

"eTTL" is a Canon specific TTL term I believe. I would suggest you contact Ikelite if you have a question and reference the specific camera and housing you have.

I'm going to do that on Monday as my housing interfaces through an eTTL electronics assembly. From the Ikeltie description it seems like your strobe won't work properly. Thanks.
