Alert Diver Manatee Cover - New Format

Here is my manatee photograph on the cover of the Winter 2014 Alert Diver. Yes that's a new format! Also it's been around seven years since a manatee made the cover of a noted print magazine - too long!

 

I'm also very proud there is a retrospective of my friend Ned DeLoach & his name is near the manatee, prominently featured. Great issue! Thanks to Stephen Frink for choosing my photo & printing it so well even making the golds on the bream "pop"! If I can speak for the manatees, they are pleased!

The last notable print magazine manatee cover I could locate was Jason Bradley's cover of Fathoms - Fall 2007. That's too much time between manatee covers! Here they are side by side, my Alert Diver 2014 Manatee & Fathom's 2007 Manatee cover:

BTW, I told Stephen Frink I was sure the change to A4 format was done to highlight the manatee's ample attractive body mass & round curves ;-)
