Phil Rudin 385 Posted May 14, 2014 The issue with the 12-50 zoom is the complex gear required for shifting from the 12-50 power zoom into the macro mode. If you want to make that work it requires a custom port and gear. To get the lens to zoom from 12 to 50 in the Aquatica dome is not the issue, gears already exist for that and the E-M1 camera can be programed to zoom this lens. Getting it into the macro mode is quite a different issue. A little information on the lens and how the gear which allows the macro feature works. http://www.reefphoto.com/kb.php?id=45 http://www.reefphoto.com/kb.php?id=
Rajesh 1 Posted May 14, 2014 Carlos, you are an excellent photographers and put the fisheye and 7-14 to great use so this may not be a big issue for you but some consider the 12-50 zoom to be the holy grail of all purpose lenses for the M43 system. If you intend to use this lens with the macro feature locked at 43mm) you may want to know if Aquatica intend to support its use because it is a quite complicated lens to support with all of its features. To make it zoom from 12 to 50mm is not hard only getting it to lock in the macro mode is a nightmare. Thanks Phil, I want use the 12-50mm with no macro mode activated. Some people suggest a Subsee or Saga setup to get more magnification in 50mm. I will do it. I used a lot the 14-54mm and I would like to do something similar. Thanks for your support, dude. Rajesh 1 Posted May 14, 2014 Aquatica will have it's own fisheye dome, same as the much loved 4" coated glass Minidome used in the DSLR line, 4" = 100mm give or take. This will work with the 8mm fisheye. A quick look at Aquatica's lens chart, found here: http://www.aquatica.ca/en/charts/43_micro_type_lens_chart.pdf shows that the Pany 7-14 as well as the Oly 9-18, 12-40 as well as the 12-50 zooms will be supported by the new acrylic dome. the 45 and 60mm macros will also be supported. Regards S. Hi, Mi plan is use the Aquatica 30207 / O-60 Flat Macro port with the 12-50mm. I'm almost sure could be a good configuration with not viggneting. After Aquatica end the desing of a dome port for the 7-14mm I will think about to buy the lens and use the 12-50mm with the dome also.

Phil Rudin 385 Posted May 14, 2014 Several after market gears are out including the one attached. The problem then becomes if you intend to shoot the lens behind a dome without the ability to attach a closeup lens or will you want to shoot behind a flat port so that you can use the closeup lens. I think you should be able to use this lens in the Aquatica port for the 60mm macro lens since both lenses are about the same length. I use the 12-50 in my Nauticam 65 port for my 60mm macro, both ports have the 67mm thread for a flip adapter and/or closeup lens. http://www.deepshots.co.uk/2014/04/introducing-missing-bits-by-deepshots/
Rajesh 1 Posted May 14, 2014 Yeah, is my idea, work with the flat port for both lens, 12-50mm and 60mm
Alex_Tattersall 90 Posted May 19, 2014 Oosantoo, I’ve just received my EM10 camera and the camera has a 1/250 max flash synch speed. I don’t see that being an issue so think this camera is even more attractive.

Supposed to be 1/250 for the internal flash and 1/200 for an external flash. Since most underwater systems use strobes triggered by the internal flash, I guess 1/250 applies. Stewart L. Sy 12 Posted May 25, 2014 (edited) Here's the current list of supported lenses http://www.aquatica.ca/en/charts/43_micro_type_lens_chart.pdf Edited May 25, 2014 by Stewart L. Sy
Phil Rudin 385 Posted May 25, 2014 I don't think this list of lenses is complete because in all of the Aquatica release announcements they said the 7-14 lens would be supported. Perhaps they have just not worked out the port extension length for the lens. The Panasonic 7-14mm zoom is one of the more popular lenses for M43 use underwater, can't imagine that it will not be supported by Aquatica.
Rajesh 1 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) They said that 4/3 lens will be supported and... no news. Also said that 7-14mm from Panasonic will be supported but... SW8 don't get the expected quality and... they are working to setup the right gear. (I guess) Edited May 26, 2014 by Rajesh
