globaldiver 0 Posted May 9, 2004 What is the best way to secure the video housing in respect to both having good mobility and decrease the entanglement risk. Some use spiral lanyards, which I do not really like, but I wonder what method you have come up with that works best for you. My housing is a Gates pd-170, and I am looking for a smart, well proven way to secure this rather large housing to one of the D-rings on my harness. Lndr 0 Posted May 9, 2004 For my camera I use a lanyard I made out of marine shock cord. The things that make this work for me ... 1. Its just as long as my arm reach, so theres not a lot of extra stuff to get in the way or get tangled (and not being curled it doesn't crimp on); 2. Its elasticity eases the jaring on the system if I have to hook my camera onto a gear line 3. I have big clips on the end so they are easy to find when I can't see them, and use when I have gloves on. 4. I have the knots which hold the clips on secured with cable ties so they don't work loose! HTH Lndr
