lbogy 0 Posted May 17, 2004 I have recently bought the Oly 5060 & have gone on one dive trip with it. I have 2 slave strobes and have realized that the camera flash does not work in super macro which gives me no slave flash at all in super macro. All my super macro pics were blue/green from too little light. Any way around this? Also, was wondering - does the 5050 camera flash in super macro?
ikelite 0 Posted May 17, 2004 One of the many advantages (read that as reasons) for the Ikelite housing for 5060. See following URL: http://www.ikelite.com/web_pages/2olympusTTL.html Cameras Underwater UK web site has very impressive detailed lens tests: http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/d_still...s/ike_5060.html http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/info/le...enscorrect.html

Set the flash mode to slave. You'll get one adjustable low level flash. No preflash. I don't have a 5060, but I think it should work the same way.
nrssp 0 Posted May 18, 2004 one thing is, when using the c5050 in super macro with internal flash only you get very little flash hitting the subject..
ReyeR 0 Posted May 18, 2004 Herb is right. The slave flash is the same in the 5060. Since you have external slave strobes you should be able to use this to trigger them in Supermacro mode. I don't know what strobe you have but you should probably be using slave flash even in normal macro and AF mode. Note: you can only access the slave flash menu (ok >> mode menu >> camera >> flash >> slave) in A and M shooting modes. Also, like herb said, it has no pre-flash, so if your strobe is set to pre-flash ignore you must turn this feature off.
lbogy 0 Posted May 18, 2004 Thanks to all who helped. I have just played with the camera at my desk & gotten the flash to work in super macro by going through the mode menu. On the dive trip I was using the left side button & the dial, which was not working. Wish I had talked to you guys first. Lbogy
