NWDiver 42 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) I have limited experience with the A7, Nauticam, Nikonas 15mm, and Zeis 24-70mm. Really like the camera and once I got dialed into using the 15mm really liked it. The 24-70mm was good for shark shots and I found the auto focus to work fine. Now that the 16-35mm and 90mm macro are coming out this becomes a better UW system, IMHO. Most of the wide angle shots in this Cocos Island gallery were taken with the a7 & Nikonas pairing. Leave for the Solomons in two weeks and will give it another go. http://www.aquabluedreams.com/#/gallery/costa-rica-june-2014/dsc81761/ Edited November 3, 2014 by NWDiver

Mark K 5 Posted November 14, 2014 I also have limited experience wht A7 on land ,....which I sold soon and replaced it with an A7r. I have strong doubt in their capabilities of being an underwater shooting gear...Slow AF really hurts and limited lens availability is another issue.
oskar 6 Posted November 20, 2014 I think the new a7mk2 is a great prospect for uw use with the IBIS. If just the lens selection would get sorted. A modern bright fisheye please!
A.Y. 15 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Beside IBIS, A7 II also has faster autofocus and tracking, and XAVC S codec with S Log2 profile. This announcement was a total surprise; hopefully, the A7S II with 4k internal recording will be next. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ysu-WIs-R1k#t The E10-18mm image cicle will cover the entire FF sensor between the 12-17mm range. 12mm is very wide on an full frame. UW lens options for the full-frame mode: E10-18mm OSS, FE16-35mm OSS Zeiss, and FE90mm OSS Macro G. Edited November 21, 2014 by A.Y.
