AllisonFinch 7 Posted November 20, 2014 Having been on the Damai AND been in Cenderawasih Bay, I will tell you folks that this is a GREAT combination. The Damai is the nicest boat with a great crew. This company is top notch and will be there for you through thick and thin. And the bay is amazing. Besides the expected whale sharks, which you will see in spades, there is really fine other diving. You will not be disappointed in either the boat or the dive area!!
Tim of the Deep 0 Posted November 20, 2014 (edited) Allison, you are a saint. But what she says is all true. I love this trip. We get some war wrecks, a couple of great macro sites, a sea mount full of action, the Cenderawasih endemics including the walking shark, longnose butterfly, etc. The ship and food are always top notch. We keep the group small so we have nearly individual guide service. This trip has only one serious photographer right now so any additional photogs will not be a problem. We spend 2 days doing whale sharks (under which baggan we have seen sailfish and other denizens) and we found some nice, new reefs this summer. get ahold of me for the last 2 spots. timrock@doubleblue.com Thanks again Allison!! AllisonFinch 7 Posted November 21, 2014 (edited) You didn't mention one of my bucket species that I never thought I would find there. The Pygmy Pipehorse (AKA Lembeh Seadragon). Sorry, I haven't had time to clean or play with the image, it is out of the camera. Edited November 21, 2014 by AllisonFinch
