Hello!

My camera is canon eos 7d. Housing is old UK-Germany for analog slr custom modifyed. Until now I was only using one analog strobe in manual mode- Hartenberger 500. I recently purchased used and with broken battery- Subtronic gamma. I replaced the battery and it works! But there is a catch. Every strobe for it self works fine. When i plug them in both in than only one strobe fires. It doesnt matter what combination of connectors i use- the one that fires is allways Hartenberger. Any ideas?

What happens if you only plug in the Subtronic?

Works normaly. I think that the signal from hot shoe is to weak for both strobes. I tried to wire them over PC connector where they work fine. I am thinking to use PC connector instead of Hot Shoe since none of the strobes supports TTL. Any other sugestion? sory for my bad English!

Strobe are turn on by short circuit.

If both strobe are very similar no problems but if the difference is big, then you have problem if you have wire them in parallel. (the strobe with lowest resistance turns on)

A solution could be to wire one via hotshoe and the other via PC connector.

Ok this makes sence! What is interesting is that they work normal if i wire them both via PC (tried this just now) :D I quess the signal is stronger over PC? I will just have to rewire all the connectors in the housing to PC.

You might want one of these or something similar:

You should check the strobe draw with a voltmeter to see if it's safe for your camera as analog strobes can have a much higher signal strength.
