tassietraveller 4 Posted December 24, 2014 Hi All, I've just acquired a bargain priced second hand ikelite flat port (5502.41) to fit my 60 mm nikkor macro lens. I had previously been using the flat port designed for the 105 mm lens as it came with my kit, but it didn't allow me to get as close as I'd like. However, the new (second hand) flat port has some small scratches on the front. They probably won't affect image quality, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to swap over the front section of ikelite flat ports? It seems like they are designed to screw off, and have some kind of black sealing tape underneath, but I don't want to damage anything or end up with a leaky port. I'd like to swap the pristine front section off my 105 mm port to the other port. Has anyone attempted such a procedure? Cheers Nick
Cerianthus 55 Posted December 24, 2014 The non modular ports are meant to stay in one piece. I think it is also might be glued. You can use micro mesh and or novus polish to get the marks out.
tassietraveller 4 Posted December 24, 2014 Thanks. I'll have a go at polishing them out.
