gorantrener 4 Posted February 24, 2015 hello, i need a quick advice, since i have opportunity to get cheap used inons, but one of them is type 3 and other is type 4. are they "compatible"? can i use them as tween set without issues with strobe power? i assume that is not the issue in manual adjustment (is it?), but what happens with TTL shooting? thanks in advance
TimG 62 Posted February 24, 2015 Hi Goran They are compatible in that they can slave off each other; and using them in manual should not be a problem. On TTL, I'm not so sure. I use a pair of Type 4s successfully with TTL. But mixed types, sorry, I can't advise. As far as my experience goes, pre-Type 4s are trickier wIth TTL. bversteegh 0 Posted March 1, 2015 yes - you can shoot ttl with different Inon strobes. I have shot type 4 and type 2 both TTL together. Type 4 are more sensitive - and they use the smaller diameter slave sensors. The type 4 can use either Inon fiber optic cable end, the type 3 needs to larger one I'm pretty sure (I know the type 2 uses the larger one).
