marbiol 0 Posted June 16, 2004 I'm planning on replacing the Ikelite strobe bulkhead connector on my housing (Olympus c5050) for a Nikonos bulkhead connector. I was wondering if anyone had done this before or knew of a source for a connector which could be fitted with minimal difficulty. Since this is to allow me to use other makes of strobe, Ikelite don't seem to be interested in helping out. I do have experience in working with these materials so it's not a stretch to accomplish it, but I need the parts first... Hope someone can help, Dan. james 0 Posted June 16, 2004 Sounds interesting, keep us posted. Make sure to pressure test your housing (on land or underwater w/o the camera inside) before you use it. Cheers James
Lionfish43 0 Posted June 16, 2004 Try UW Phototech. Fred stocks replacement Nikonos bulkheads from various housing manufacturers. He may have one that will fit your housing. Larry
ikelite 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Or Ikelite has sync cords that allow attaching most "non standard" strobes to an Ikelite housing.
pmooney 6 Posted June 17, 2004 What would be the best way to connect a YS90DX to a Ikelite 5050 or 5060 housing ( thinking of a few options - i have a number of each camera & strobes ) Is it possible to get a Nikon Bulkhead fitted from the factory or just a matter of odereing the correct cord and adapter ???? Will the TTL work with this combo ???
ikelite 0 Posted June 17, 2004 Nikonos bulkhead is certainly not one of the better choices. An Ikelite #4118.1 sync cord allows attaching a Sea & Sea or Inon strobe to an Ikelite housing. Dual strobe #4118.2 cord availability is being evaluated. These cords provide sync only without any TTL capability............
