Recommended Posts

hey Adam,

Once you post something and it sells, how do you delete the posting??

Thanks,

Debbie

If your classified items has sold, please simply add a post to the topic stating that it is now sold. We never delete posts or topics.

If you are selling multiple items in one topic, please update the topic as the items sell with what is still available for sale

This will prevent people from continuing to message you about items that have sold, and will preserve the topic in the event of any disputes in future.

Many thanks

Adam

We don't delete, because it gives you an idea what is available and what it might cost. I think.

Hello. I'm new here and trying to do a for sale post but can't see any way of doing that because it says that you cannot start a new topic. I'm signed in. Can anyone advise me on this. Thanks

Hey Whaleman

Sorry you are having a problem.

Try logging out and then logging back in again. Then select New Topic in the Classifieds.

Best wishes

Tim

How do I edit a post to update the list of sold items ? Edit does not seem to be an option. I tried logging off and back in, but still the same. Why is doing this so much different on this site compared to the thousands of other sites where this process is intuitive ?

Also, I responded to my own add to list sold items and it identifies me as a guest even though I am clearly signed in as mintakax

Hi mintakax

You can edit a post for a short while after you have created it. But the policy of Wetpixel is that posts - including Classifieds - can't be edited later on. A number of people raise this issue in terms of sales - as I'm sure you have seen. But the vast majority of users of the site seem to manage it happily and like the ability to look back at Classified threads and see how demand and prices adapt.

On the "guest" issue, there is a quirk in the software that sometimes when you make post it shows your name as Guest - but that this normally changes to the correct log in name once the post is refreshed.
