_Alex_ 1 Posted May 23, 2016 I am considering upgrading to a Olympus E-PL7 with wet lenses for both macro and wide angel. Looking at the wide angle options saw the UWL-04 and I was wondering whether this lens will work with the standard 14-42EZ lens. The review of this camera on uwphotographyguide.com suggest that it should work, but I cannot find any reviews of this combination. Have you tried this combination? Please let me know what you think of it. I am most interested in the corner sharpness over the full zoom range and if vignetting does occur. Thanks in advance! Alex. Klaus 0 Posted February 14, 2022 I would also like to know if anyone tried the UWL-04 with a micro 4/3, ideally an Olympus pen. Any advice out there? thanks, Klaus
ChrisRoss 150 Posted February 14, 2022 The UWL-04 is designed for compact cameras with 28mm focal length, UW photo stores also suggest it can be used on an RX-100 size sensor (1"sensor) but there is no mention of it for m43. It is likely a bit of a stretch to use it on m43 as it was originally designed with small sensor compacts in mind. Vignetting is totally dependent on the housing/port you are using it with. The lens must be a close fit and be quite close to the port glass to avoid vignetting. Finding reviews of wet lenses especially with decent sized test shots is rather difficult, there are not many posted. This website has quite a few large test shots (1920 x 1080 pixles) from wet lenses. They are mostly on 1"sensor cameras (RX100 size) but a few are shot with APS_C size Sony A6500. IF you get good reults on APS-C it will likely be better with micro43. All the images have EXIF data embedded so you can see what focal length they were shot at. https://www.housingcamera.com/blog/product-reviews/the-ultimate-wet-lens-sample-post I expect the UWL-04 would be very similar to the Kraken KRL-2 - specs are close but not identical,
Dann-Oh 40 Posted February 18, 2022 Backscatter has recommend wet lenses for the EPL10 (I know its not the epl7 like you asked about). They are recommending using the AOI UWL 09PRO or the UWL M52 lens. Personally I use the EPL10 with the Panasonic 8mm fisheye. I will be trying out the 60mm macro this year. Any advice out there? thanks, Klaus I've shot the UWL-04 on 14-42EZ with a Pen before. The corners are unacceptably soft. That lens works well with compact cameras with smaller sensors.

turandot 15 Posted March 4, 2022 On my next trip I will test the 14-42EZ with the wetlens UWL-04 28M52 on Olympus OMD EM5 Mark III and Saga +10 for macro, I had it from my previous Canon S110 setup. I will also test dedicated lens and port for the 8mm fisheye for wide angle and the 60mm for macro. I'll tell you on the way back.
