Aquatica Surveyor Vacuum Valve

Recommended Posts

Fitted an aquatica vacuum valve to my Aquatica Nikon D700 housing recently.

There is a lot of play between the valve and the housing. It seems to hold a neg ok but it just doesn't seem ok to me.

Any had a similar experience or can shed some light on it for Me?

Much appriciated

"There is a lot of play ,,,,,,,"

This does not give me a warm feeling!

Not familiar with Aquatica; our Vivid vacuum units fit solid.

Will it hold vacuum while you wiggle it?

I'd not dive it until some Aquatica owners respond to you here.

Hi Barry

I have the "backscatter vacuum" system on my S&S housing, there is also a bit of play on it also. Been using it for a few years now and now issue. It is solid when under pressure. Give Aquatica a shout to be sure, they're normally very quick to respond. If its holding vacuum over night and doesn't lose vacuum by wiggling it as okuma suggested Id think your good to go. Might want to test dive it without camera.

Hi Barry,

Let me check with engineering and I will get back to you.

Thanks,

I use a Vivid on my 5dmk3 Aquatica - and have done since they became available. Dead easy to fit, no wiggle and does the job perfectly

My Surveyor Valve is firm on my Aquatica AD500.

Have you checked to see if the nut on the inside of the housing holding the valve is on tight?

Regards Mark
