waz2068 0 Posted June 30, 2019 Thus far other than the initial launch I cant find much about them... starting to think the 502 and nauticam may be the best option
mattpix 0 Posted July 5, 2019 Hey, I’ve had the prototype of the Aquatica 5HD monitor since March and been getting to grips with it a fair bit. It’s the first monitor I’ve used underwater or otherwise but generally I’m very pleased. In fact, I’m now at the stage of “How did I ever live without a monitor?!!” I find the focus peaking and histogram display most useful as well as the obvious 5.7” inch screen for ease of composition. Up until now I’ve been using it with my D850 which has gone well, but I’m shortly going to using it exclusively with the Nikon Z6 & 7 when the Aquatica housing arrives later next week. I think the monitor will pair very well with these cameras and their phase detect hybrid auto focus systems. A point worth noting is this a monitor only and not an external recorder. But as far as I’m concerned, the price point is good and it works really well. It’s made my transition from shooting only stills into shooting video as well very pain free. Happy to answer any more questions about it. Cheers,
Lionfi2s 74 Posted July 5, 2019 The Aquatica monitor is not even close to the Shinobi specs and functions and there are almost indentical inprice with the Nauticam housing and Ninja V. I cant see how the Aquatica is a better option.
Maxwel Hohn 0 Posted July 5, 2019 Sorry if I'm hijacking this post but has anyone bought, or has used the new Aquatica monitor yet and if so how does it compare. Again sorry if im hijacking. I purchased the Aquatica 5HD Monitor three weeks ago and have nothing to say but positive feedback for the product. I recently used it for videography and photography on a dive trip to Newfoundland and found it incredibly useful for both applications. The unit fits perfectly above my AGH5 housing and doesn't add any negative buoyancy to my camera setup. I thought I may have difficulty pulling off vertical photos with the monitor, but with the correct length of arms it doesn't get in the way when changing the lightening positioning. It is also highly effective for getting nice close up shots with the amount of vision the monitor provides. Over all, I'm very impressed with 5HD monitor and would highly recommend it! kannjihyun 0 Posted July 22, 2019 Nauticam offers trade in if you buy a ninja V or flame housing as I understanding it The original housing cant be modified Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Could you please let me know more info about this program? thetrickster 328 Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) Richard can they modify the original housing or need a new one to upgrade to version V? Sorry for the delay in answering. You will need to replace the NA-GH5 with the NA-GH5SV to obtain access to the new M24 port - no modifications available. At this time I don't believe there is any trade-in options going forward. Could you please let me know more info about this program? Has anyone traded theirs with the newer model yet? I've now upgraded to the GH5SV housing and I've had my existing (NA-FLAME) Inferno housing modified by Nauticam to the new M24 port - it required re-drilling and anodising to access the M24 port connector, I now have access to the newer / stronger Nauticam HDMI cables and they are easy to remove for transport and replacement. Kudos to Nauticam on the new cabling - they have a longer warranty on them too! I now also gain the ability to use 10bit @ 4K60 to ProRes with the GH5 / GH5s - however that wasn't my primary goal (as I have a RAW enabled BMPCC4K) - my goal was to get the bigger port and more robust cabling. I am not sure what upgrade programs are in-place worldwide, you will need to speak with your local Nauticam Rep, as different regions may provide different options, but I don't believe there is any straight NA-GH5 > NA-GH5SV upgrade paths. Looks slowed down or is my impression? He can fin very steadily but looks way to slow Agreed it looks slowed down - Looks like the standard 60P down to 30P (or 24P) trick. Nice thou! Interceptor121 707 Posted July 24, 2019 From what I understand you get a £500 trade in discount if you buy the new GH5V and Ninja flame housing which to be honest is not really worth it

For practical purposes there is no difference with 422 actually avc intra 400 outperforms it. With 422 HQ there is some potential difference especially at 30 fps but can you really see it in underwater footage Obviously the ninja V also gives the benefit of an external monitor that especially for macro is important In terms of 60p I am of the opinion that except near surface shots with a school of sardine swarming is not required There is a real need of an external monitor under $1600 (including the actual monitor) on that I have no doubts Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Totally agreed, and I found an offer on the Aquatica 5HD under 1500$ https://www.backscatter.com/Aquatica-5HD-5-inch-Underwater-HD-Monitor-Housing?custcol19=18 But I feel totally lost on this, and I can't find much info on this. This is supposed to be a pack, right?. It is not an amphibious monitor. It's just a monitor and its housing... but I couldn't find any pictures of the monitor alone. I don't even know if I could use it on land . What kind of combination of bulkhead/HDMI type would I need to connect it to my NA-GH5? Do you guys think there is a better option in I just need a small monitor (not a recorder) to help my tired eyes? Thanks in advance for your help
Etc 11 Posted June 24, 2020 The Anglerfish HD57 semm to be a cheap option. Somebody actually using it around here?

Thanks in advance for your help FWIW, I am using a Small HD monitor and highly recommend some sort of monitor for shooting video. It has really helped me out. I was looking at the Ninja V, but there wasn't a housing for it available at the time that I was purchasing, which is why I ended up with the one that I have. I think that there may other, cheaper options out there now, and I would certainly suggest that you try one out, I think that you will like using it.
Lionfi2s 74 Posted June 24, 2020 And Nauticam is bringing out a housing for the Shinobi. I dont know how much sense it makes compared to the Ninja V though.
