Kengar 0 Posted September 26, 2004 I've seen complaints about excessive noise in what is being taken with Oly C-8080. Having just purchased a c-8080 as my first venture into anything other than point-and-shoot land picture-taking -- I won't even dain to refer to it as photography -- I was concerned by these complaints. What is this noise that's being referred to? How bad is it? Would it justify exchanging the camera for a C-5060 (and incurring the 10% restocking fee on camera and all camera-specific accessories)? Much obliged for any info. Ken
Peter Schulz 1 Posted September 26, 2004 I'm no expert. But reading this review would not cause me any loss of sleep. http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/olympusc80...80wz/page15.asp Note: Most underwater photographers shoot at the lowest ISO level available for a variety of reasons, noise being just one of them. So when looking at the noise, look at the results at the lowest ISO level.
rebollon 0 Posted October 12, 2004 As soon as you want to get best results in U/W photograpy, you'll use flash ligth. Then there is no need to increase ISO from minimum level, you'll use 50 mainly. With this setting, you will not have noise at all.
underexposed 0 Posted October 13, 2004 Looking at the graph it seems the noise level is flat up to 100. Any reason to use or not to use a slightly higher setting...fast fish...
