fforbes 7 Posted September 10, 2019 I’m worried that I’m not storing my Sola lights properly for travel. I store them in a Lipo Safe bag, but still. Can the Wetpixel group tell me how they travel with Solas?
davehicks 43 Posted September 10, 2019 Couple of thoughts: Probably don't travel with fully charged lithium ion batteries. Make sure an inspector does not try open your Sola. It's not (without tools) designed to be opened. I've heard of several Sola being damaged this way. Using the safe bag is a great idea. I just bought one of these myself. Interceptor121 461 Posted September 10, 2019 Batteries contained in equipment and packed with equipment can be fully charged The requirement of no more than 30% soc only applies to batteries shipped on their own and this scenario does not apply to a travelling diverLights need to be set so they dont activate this can achieved removing the batteries (not advices for sola) or locking the light This can be done in two ways setting the switch for 4 seconds on more until it blinks red or opening the cap and rotating the inner part to flight mode. There is no need for security to open the lights themselves you start with the switch lock so you can prove they are set and if they insist open the light and put it in flight mode yourselfSent from my SM-A505FN using Tapatalk
