Blackwater diving

Fabulous pics!  I just got back from NAD myself....  the resort / guides are awesome and all of the blackwater photography coming out is amazing!   :)

Really nice shots. What's the tecnical that you are using to do it?. It looks like you are positioning the strobes behind the subjets.

most of the pictures were shot with the strobes in normal position (above and to the side of the lens). However, some of the translucent subjects were shot with one strobe behind and the other in front.

Absolutely beautiful work!

You said this was the first time for you on a Black Water dive.  How difficult was it to frame and focus?  I have never done that type of dive and I very much want to try on future trips.  Any suggestions?

There is quite a steep learning curve.  A strong focus light will be very useful, I use a sola red 1200.  Framing is all over the place as most things move really fast so I always try to shoot a bit wider then crop down and shoot lots of pictures.  Diving with NAD for a week also helped get into the habit. Best of luck
