First Underwater Review Sony A7R IV!!!

Recommended Posts

Did you find the animal eye AF worked on sharks and the blenny image? Also did you get to test any video with it?

For the sharks, we were fairly far away from them, and we only tried it once, but the animal eye AF didn't work well. I think for this type of animal visibility and conditions will play a big factor. For blennies, we were using AF tracking and it worked fantastic. We didn't take any test video with the animal eye AF - we're planning on taking some more video later on this week. Check out some of our video footage here:

Thanks for the reply. Awesome news about the AF tracking working so well on the blenny. Looking forward to seeing more video from this camera. Its just such a shame Sony didn't enable a choice of how many MP you can use. Like select 24, 36, 42 or 61. I just think 61 is overkill. Perhaps in a few situations where you might want to crop extensively.

The shark is unsharp. Is this a problem of the combination used (camera AF, lens (adapter?), extension, domeport)?
