Hi I'm Gabrial, A Television Director from London and new to the world of underwater photography. We will be filming an underwater photography session in California on Saturday 30th July.

I would like to ask if anyone has any advice on where I would be able to Hire/Borrow underwater Housing for a Sony Alpha A55 camera to be used in our shoot? This would have ีีีีufabet to be from the San Diego area if possible.

And secondly, we are looking for a great underwater Photographer to give our pupil a short lesson (on land) and then take them snorkelling to take some pictures. Does this sound like something any of you in the California area would be interested in?

Ocean Enterprises is a great San Diego dive shop. My contact is no longer there, but if you give them a call, I'm sure that they could set you up.

Hello all,

I'm a newish diver from Southern California USA. I'm an experienced photographer, I prefer landscape, nightscape, and long exposure imaging but I wanted to have a reason to blow a ton of money with the challange of underwater photography (joking well kind of). I also do part time wedding photography and videography with a local company.

I image on a Sony A7iii on the surface and a Sony RX100VA inside a Fantasea FRX100VA VAC housing when I am in the water.

I'm still in the process of building up my RX100 imaging rig while I gain dive experience. Any leads on good quality used parts would be awesome.

My wife wants to visit the Philipines next year. If so, I want to dive. Do you have any suggestions of where it's best? I especially enjoy photographing corals. Thanks.

For corals, I would suggest Dumaguete - it gives you access to Dauin coast, as well as Apo Island, Siquijor and Sumilon via day boats.

Hello fellow UW Photographers.

For me, spending time underwater is a gift most folks will never experience first hand.  Underwater photography is a way to share that experience with others and raise awareness of the beauty and diversity of life found in our oceans.

I enjoy the art and science of photography and hope to improve my skills with practice and learning from others.

Looking forward to participating in the wetpixel forums :)

Hi,

I'm John from the Sunshine Coast in Australia. I've been diving and snorkelling with housings for a couple of years with a Sony a7R2 in a Seafrogs housing and I've just bought a Seafrogs housing for my Sony a7R3 which I recently took to the Gili Islands but I'm just looking to take it to the next level by adding strobes/video lights etc. I'm hoping I'll be able to get some help on here.

Cheers.

Hi people,

I am an oceanographer and divemaster and I work full time with underwater photos and videos in Tenerife for over a year. I already used several car paint thickness gauge topics in here to help with equipment maintenance and tips, but just recently got to actually make an account for myself. Better later than never?

Cheers.

Hi I'm a newbie photographer and  a major beginner so please go easy on me as I'm not even sure everything I say will make sense to you. I've always enjoyed taking photos using my phone - mostly just of of architecture and things I find nice looking throughout my normal day. I recently got gifted a Nikon D3300 but I can't seem to get any better photos than I would on my mobile. So firstly, can you guys point me to any website or from your own personal experience give me any หมวกกันน็อค basic tips to just get me in the right direction i.e. should I use autofocus etc etc. Also, I'm aware there are a few different types of camera's (DSLR and bridge??? I believe.) Can you just explain what is the difference of each and what are they both used for as I like to take pictures of people in every day life and I just feel the DSLR doesn't do much more than my phone could (maybe because I'm not using it right at all.)

Sorry for the block of text but I will appreciate ANY help as it's frustrating not being good at something you quite enjoy

Brian... getting back into underwater photography. Started with a point and shoot, then to DSLR with Canon 20D, then back to point and shoot with Nikon AW130. All mostly on auto, shitty photos for most part. Decided to get more serious. Been reading a lot and getting better with shooting on land. Decided to go back to DSLR underwater and went deep with Canon 80D, Ikelite housing, 8" dome port, port extension, 2 DS160 strobes, 2 Orcatorch D910v lights, Kraken focus light, Sigma 17-70, Tokina 10-17, Kenko 1.4 TC, Keldan Spectrum filter for Sigma and magic filter for tokina, arms, floats, etc.....

Hi all, I’m a Padi Rescue diver with 250 dives and been doing scuba photog since  2004 but had a long break and only recently updated my rig. I now use a compact LX10 based system and  upgrading my wide angle. Wondering if anyone has any views on preference between Inon UWL-H100+Dome or AOI UWL-09? In particular on sharpness, flexibility of zoom thru while maintaining that focus and dome scratch resistance? Many thanks. Alex
