hutt 0 Posted March 3, 2020 Hello, I'm looking to purchase a small setup for ambient light photography, principally wide of large animals/people. I will also be required to shoot broadcastable video in 4k. I have some some research and for the cost I'm looking at buying a used A6500, Nauticam housing, 10-18, 16-70, and 7" acrylic port. Is there a cheaper option that would better suit my needs? Many thanks
hyp 103 Posted March 3, 2020 I think for ambient light (especially on crop) a wet lens solution with the WWL1 might be better, because you can shoot wider apertures. Not sure how this would pan out financially. WWLs are not often available used. I have no direct experience with the sony, but many seem to think that white balance on Panasonic cameras is better. The GH5 still seems to be the standard for high quality 4k video.
bill1946 16 Posted March 3, 2020 If you are looking at the Sony a6000 series, take a look at the a6400. Some key differences that make a difference.
Lewis88 12 Posted March 3, 2020 Could always go with a SeaFrogs Salted Line housing. It will save you big money compared to nauticam.
