andreysavin 3 Posted September 26, 2020 Is the new SONY A7S III suitable for housing NAUTICAM NA-A7R IV #17423 ? I know that the body sizes A7R IV and A7S III are slightly different, but a detailed study of this question and Nauticam's evasive answers leave hope that this is potentially possible. ... for example, by creating a new platform that is screwed to the bottom of the camera before installing it in the housing... hyp 115 Posted September 26, 2020 Unlikely. Only one way to find out though.

ChrisRoss 150 Posted September 27, 2020 The cameras look near identical - but is it near enough? critical dimensions will be view finder and lens mount placement. Your photos indicate they are close maybe the SIII viewfinder is a touch higher? Other than that a couple of buttons appear to have swapped locations -one being the video button which may be less convenient to reach. You might have a mm or two leeway with buttons that are pressed, probably less on dials turned by fiction wheels. I would suggest that the only way to find out for sure would be to try it in your housing. Nauticam are going to be cautious in saying if it will or won't work I would think. Do you have a friendly camera store nearby?

Whipauee 13 Posted October 9, 2020 Hi, I'm new to wetpixel. I have both the A7r4 and A7s3 bodies. Been shooting UW video with a Sony RX100 Vii with Nauticam housing for a year or more and plan to upgrade to theA7s3. When I talked with Nauticam 2 weeks ago they felt the Nauticam housing for the A7r4 would not work with the A7s3 body. On a close visual inspection the Video trigger on the A7s3 looks to be ever so slightly larger than the C1 button (Same location) on the A7r4. It really looks like the 2 bodies are the same size, but I don't really have a way to measure to the degree I think is needed for assurances. Also the ports on the left side are different on each camera body if you were going to connect something external that can be a factor. Anyway I'm about to pull the trigger on the Nauticam A7s3 housing as soon as I get comfortable on the lens and port configuration that suits me best. When I do have the housing (Available but on backorder for 2-3 weeks) I will be able to physically put the bodies into the A7s3 housing and see what shakes.
Gindrik 1 Posted August 28, 2021 Hello everyone, I also looked into this as I own an A7R4 and an A7S3 and the best answer I found was to finally get the Nauticam A1 housing, with the camera holder for the A7S iii. The biggest camera is the A1. Nauticam offers a camera holder for the A7S iii so perfectly fit, and the A7R4 fit also with it but is slimer so you just need to put some ducktape for using 4 back buttons and it is fully functional. At final, it is a bit more expensive but fully compatible. A dream: one housing for 3 Sony cameras, I hope the information will be useful to some.

Was anyone able to verify if the A7siii works in the A7riv housing or vise versa? Weighing all of my options before pulling the trigger. Thanks in advance.
