Chrisverde 1 Posted December 6, 2020 hey guys, i have a g16 that has out of no where the lens has got stuck. it still turn on but doesn't take long to turn off because the lens is stuck (reading -error) i have visually checked and everything looks clean. but I'm wondering if it worth throwing or fixing if anyone has had the same issue. ChrisRoss 150 Posted December 6, 2020 Google is full of ideas like this one: https://www.ifixit.com/Answers/View/22207/Lens+wont+retract+and+turns+off and if you are felling adventurous you could search for a teardown video or guide such as this: https://www.canonwatch.com/disassembly-repair-canon-powershot-g16/ The G16 was released in 2013 so it's even possible that Canon may no longer support it.
