Hi all,

I'm a diver from California. I'm joining this forum to seek help what to get for my new underwater compact camera and rig that satisfy the requirements below.

Welcome imacro!

There are subforums specific for beginners & gear on Wetpixel - I'd recommend you posting there for more visibility

Hi Everyone,

I'm a very keen underwater photographer and have been diving for 15 years logging more than 5000 dives - mostly done with a camera in hand. (Well, at least when I'm not teaching!). I am a PADI IDC Staff/SSI AIT and have previously managed dive centers in both the UK and Egypt (Sharm el Sheikh).

I'm living in Denmark now and dive all year round both here and abroad (travel restrictions permitting) but my favorite location is the Red Sea .....it just has so much variation to offer!:fishred:

I have focused predominantly on stills in the past - the video I have done has left a lot to be desired!.....but now, with current technological capability I really feel it's time to try again with video.

Hi all!

I am a Pacific Northwest resident making my way in freelance photography and filmmaking primarily of freshwater salmon ecosystems of Bristol Bay, Alaska and Washington. I got my start as a salmon researcher with the University of Washington and have really enjoyed paring my experience in the environmental sciences with camera work!

Thanks for having me.

Hi everyone,

I am Tasha and live in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia for those of you who may not know where that is).  I have been diving for about 10 years and really love underwater photography.  I have recently upgraded from a compact camera to the Sony a7R3 in a Isotta housing.  I am loving it, and learning something new each dive.  Hopefully I can learn lots of tips and trick from everyone here.

Hi All,

my name is Erik from Northern Germany. I'm a marine biologist and diving instructor, diving for about 30 years and bought my first Nikonos 25 years ago. After not shooting UW for a couple of years I picked up the Nik V last year and having tons of fun using it again. Pretty much old school but I will surely be up to date soon reading this forum ;-)

Hi all,

I'm Par from Sydney, Australia. I started taking underwater photos about 2 years. While I am still a newbie, I'd like to do my best to produce the best images that I can do with the equipment that I've got. To do so, I understand that there are many areas that I need to study and learn more. Hence, I joined Wetpixel to be able to learn from your knowledge and experinces.

Cheers,

Par

Hi All,

I'm Richard from Northern California.  I learned to dive and got my first underwater camera back in the early 80s - Nikon N2020 in an Ikelite housing.  I'm just returning to the sport after a couple decade hiatus.  I just bought a new camera system that I plan to use around the world hopefully for another 5-10 years.  Thanks for all the great information from staff and members.

Best,

Richard

Hello everyone

I'm based in Switzerland. I started diving in 2018 in Mexico and I'm AOWD now with 100 dives. I always used to film with my gopro, now I want to start with my GH5.

Greetings.  Just joined. I'm a surf photographer from Va. Bch., VA. and the OBX. Rather complicated trying to insert an image from my website?  Oh well.  I have an amazing CMT Custom Carbon fiber housing I'm trying to sell with ports to fit multiple lenses including a flared flat port for the 24-70mm f/2.8L II wide angle zoom for the canon 7D Mark II.  I moved to Aquatech and am currently using a canon 5D Mark IV and the Reflex housing.IMG_2181.jpeg?format=2500w

Hi everyone!

I'm from Tasmania, Australia! I love (and have only) dived in temperate and cold waters. One day very soon I will hit warm water. I have currently started my DM and am also a rather inexperienced (I'm working on it!) Freediver.

I've just purchased a camera  (Sony A7R ii) and am hoping to get a housing before too long. Hopefully interact soon, and if anyone ever heads to Tas, hit me up!

Hi.  New member here.  I'm returning to diving after a 20+ year break.  I have an Olympus TG that I've been using for shallow work, and look forward to getting gear that will work at depth.  I dive in Monterey, CA.
