DavidLloyd 1 Posted March 3, 2022 Hi everyone, I'm an Australian Photographer based in Port Douglas. I got into underwater photography in order to help my partner get better reference images to paint from. She's a wildlife artist that focuses mostly on sealife. Last year we opened our very own gallery (SEA Gallery) here in Port Douglas, where I sell my photographs on paper and canvas. My first underwater housing was an Ikelite 200DL with a Canon 5D mk iii. I used the trusty 15mm Sigma fisheye almost exclusively with this system and dual DS161 strobes. We've now been with Sony for 2 years and have a A7iii in the new Ikelite housing (with the same strobes), which my partner uses. I'm shooting with an A7r3 with an Isotta Housing, 8" dome acrylic dome and dual retra pro x strobes. I love being underwater, both diving and free diving. I predominantly shoot turtles, but have been building my collection of Sharks, Rays and Whale up slowly over the past few years. Currently have a 14mm GM, 20mm G & 28mm Sony lenses that can be used between both systems. Longtime reader, looking to start contributing :) Cheers, Dave

Dan W 3 Posted March 4, 2022 Hi I'm Dan - I shoot with may cameras. I just bought two latest version Rolleimarin housings, and need some new rubber seals. I have camera connecting parts for one camera housing - need a set for second housing. Also need some of the glass Rolleinar and contrast filters. And also need the finders that attach to top of housings.
sandra kaye 2 Posted March 5, 2022 Hi All Wetpixel members, I am Sandy from Vanuatu, my partner John and I are avid Divers and underwater photographers. We live on the main island of Efate in Havannah Harbour so we can dive right from our beach stairs. Even though our reef has been destroyed by COTS we find many species of nudibranchs, leafy scorpion fish and many more interesting critters. I am currently in the market to upgrade since my videography has been improving I would like to take it to the next level from my Sony RX100 to maybe a GH5. I enjoy this site as it is a great way to find out information about different techniques, equipment and recommendations.
troporobo 244 Posted March 5, 2022 Welcome Sandy! You are in a great spot, I am envious. I spent many years working in Vanuatu, the Solomons, and PNG and diving on the weekends. It's now been a long time but I hope to get back some day soon.

rileym21 0 Posted March 8, 2022 Hi All, I'm Riley, I've been diving for about 12 years now, with long breaks during that time. Getting back into it recently and wanting to take my A7SIII under with me. In mid 2022 I plan to leave my job and spend a few years diving full time. I plan to start a YouTube channel to share my learnings and experiences on this journey. My favorite dive locations so far were Palawan Philippines, Bonne Terre Mine, and Cabo San Lucas. Raja Ampat is a dream destination for me along with many places in Mexico. Riley

I am 34 and over the past two years I've sold basically all of my possessions (house, truck, belongings) and slowly streamlined my life to move abroad. Somehow I still have three cameras! Need to get down to one system (A7SIII underwater and topside and maybe an A7C for topside only). My advice would be to just do it faster than I did, don't let it take so long. I could have already been two years into the journey and maybe onto the next one if I'd have acted quicker. Edited March 9, 2022 by rileym21

Hi, I'm lucky to live next to the Great Barrier Reef and work on the reef. I've been interested in photography for many years but never very seriously. I started with a Nikonos 3, then a Nikonos 5 and more recently Olympus TG 4,5,6 and EPL-10 and AOI housing. I have been checking out Wetpixel for a while and found it really helpful. Ronen 0 Posted March 12, 2022 Hi, hello from Israel, I have been a diver for more than 20 years now, and during last year I also completed my trimix certification in Florida. Underwater photography has always been great fun, but - in my case - with many ups and downs. Life takes its toll from spare time.. but I joined wetpixel because I feel the urge of getting back. I have a slightly old gear based on a compact Canon and an Ikelite housing. Ronen
mark.b.hatter 5 Posted March 12, 2022 Hi Ronen, thank you for your reply and congrats on your trimix cert! With regard to shooting uw, you nailed the operative words, “great fun.” Keep shooting, keep learning. Cheers, Mark

Marvin42 0 Posted March 14, 2022 Hi, New member from Australia, have been lurking for a while, lost my credentials (reset password never sent me anything - to spam or elsewhere) so created a new account. I've been dabbling w UW photo and various setups for 15 odd years, but, just like my diving in general, inconsistently. 2-3 years ago I got a housing for my Sony A6300, and will ask some questions about it in the forums
