Hi I am Joe, a marine biologist from the UK. I've been using a Canon G7 in a Ikelite housing for a few years now and really enjoy underwater photography. I've recently taken the plunge and gone mirrorless, so I'll be trading in the old faithful G7 soon and getting myself a nauticam setup for my new Panasonic GX1. I can't wait!

Hi All,

I thought I was already registered on Wetpixel but it didn't recognise my e-mail address so perhaps this is my first time here.

I am diving just over 25 years and have been actively taking photographs for about 10 years. My first underwater camera was an Agfa 2008 which took 110 cartridge film in a Guppy housing and I used snorkelling about 35 years ago.

I currently have a Nikon D70 in a Sea & Sea housing.

The Diveshop handle comes from some of the guys in my club who differ from my approach to redundant systems when diving, until they break something and come running (or finning) to me for help.

Hi!

Thought I'd start spending some time here. But I seem to be having a problem registering... The configrmation e-mail links send me to the forum page but do not seem to have any effect. I can't start a thread or edit my profile from the forum. (I can from the main page.) The instructions say contact an administrator, but there is not an easily located link for that.

ADDED: It seems leaving a introduction worked wonders. Perhaps that should be in the confirmation e-mail.

I'm using a D90 in an Aquatica housing with a pair of Ikelite DS-161's. Our next trip will be to Little Cayman in May, our first time there. I started shooting underwater in 2002 with a Reefmaster and quickly switched to F3 which I used until going digital in 2009 .

Forgive me for imposing on you, but I really need help. I joined Wetpixel last weekend. I can't find anything on how to start a post or topic or whatever it's called on this site to try to sell some equipment. At the top of the Classifieds page, it says "You cannot start a new topic". I've tried to find a way to contact someone in authority at Wetpixel to get help, but can't find anything for that, either. This just seems to be such a user-unfriendly site. Anyway, any information or direction you would provide will be gratefully accepted!

Hi, my name is Scott. I've been diving since 2005. I just bought the Nauticam for the 7D after spending the last few years with a Cannon 20D. I haven't gottenthe new camera/housing in the water yet but I am itching. It's gotten wet, but only in the bathtub! Looking forward to all I can learn on WetPixel.

Hi all.

My name is Andreas, 46 from Germany however I would be OK when named Andy. I'm diving since 1998 and photographing underwater since around 5 years. I started off doing videos using a Sony Hd Cam (HDR500) in Mangrove housing. Travel weight restrictions however made me to change mind so now I'm mostly photographing using a Sony NEX-5N in Nauticam housing. I'm a vacation only diver so I do not have that many dives (don't like cold water - wimp I am). If interested I have placed some pictures onto smugmug for sharing.

Thanks to wetpixel for this great forum!

Howdy,

I've been diving about five years, thinking about doing my divemaster course in time for my 40th birthday next year. Also a novice dry land photographer, just starting to get into underwater images. Despite being from PA, I have done almost all of my diving in Aruba. So, if you have any questions about that island, let me know. I can probably direct you to just about anything you want on the island, or know who can.

Hi I am from Illinois, I have been reading wetpixel for several years and joined this month to get advice on a housing for my D800. I welcome any suggestions on a housing and only ask that it will work with a small women's hands.

I have these lenses to use in the housing,

#2177 nikon AF-S Micro-Nikkor 60mm f/2.8G ED Macro Autofocus Lens

#2160 nikon AF-S VR Micro-Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G IF-ED Lens

Tokina 10-17mm F/3.5-4.5 DX Autofocus Fisheye Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras, Without Lenshood

I am also open to suggestions on others that are favorites of yours!

I am selling all of my D90 setup, ikelite housing, lenses, strobes and everything I used for above and below water. It is listed on wetpixel.

I live in the US Virgin Islands. I have been a professional photographer for 40 years. I am getting ready to retire, but plan on shooting stuff I enjoy. Like UW.

I got my start in UW photography back in the early 70s by shooting UW. I won 14 medals in 2 years including a number of BofS and gold.

My first nice camera was a Rollimarine. It used flash bulbs UW.

I hope to hang out and pass on some knowledge.

Hi everyone. I'm Kat, from east Tennessee in the US.

I'm about halfway through a photography degree right now, and starting out into the professional portrait world. Been a certified diver for almost 5 years, but haven't been in the water for half of that. Hoping that will change once I'm done with school since minimum wage that I'm earning now just doesn't cover diving *and* photo equipment!

Once finances settle down, I'm hoping to get a housing for either my Nikon D40 or D7000 and be able to combine two of my loves. My favorite type of photography is nature and travel (hard to make money though) and I can see enjoying UW photos just as much as the photos I take on my weekly hikes in the Smoky Mountains.

I recently applied for a job as a diver/education presenter at Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. Cross your fingers for me!

Hi I'm Rick from SoCal. Long time diver of nearly 20 years (including technical and cave diving certifications). I occasionally dabble in UW imagery. Lately I've been having fun experimenting with UW video using a GoPro Hero HD2.

Hey, Helen here from California. :) I've been diving for 20 odd years, but recently picked up a camera (3 years ago) and have been taken by the bug. I'm currently using a Panasonic point and shoot, but am considering an upgrade, but just have no idea where to begin! LOL.

Hi everyone,

I'm a 33 year-old relative diving newbie (been certified for several years, but haven't dived a huge amount), enthusiast (topside) photographer, and made the 'fatal error' of borrowing a cheap and cheerful older A-series Canon for some snorkeling in Bonaire last week, and I think I'm hooked. Sadly no scuba due to recent (emergency) surgery, but that and the older tech didn't stop me from capturing some great underwater moments! Still pondering which system gets the underwater gear, will be posting to the forum to gather some opinions on the topic!
