ozdiverguy 1 Posted August 1, 2018 Hi, I’m Neil from Brisbane Australia and I thought I would finally introduce myself as I have been lurking here for many months. I have been diving since 2002. I started underwater photography soon after starting with a disposable underwater film camera (all photos were complete rubbish) before progressing to my first compact digital camera, the Olympus C-5050Z. Nowadays, I dive on rebreather with a Canon 7Dmark ii in an Nauticam housing with Retra strobes as equipment of choice. I’m still making terrible lighting errors with strobes but I’m hoping to improve and perhaps make some more creative shots over the coming months. dave@immersed 21 Posted August 7, 2018 (edited) Hi everyone, Dave here, from Darwin, the Top End of Australia. Looking forward to joining the discussion, learning, and sharing. I'm a fairly experienced photographer/diver who loves to learn new skills, techniques, styles, and I enjoy helping others to do the same. I now shoot with a GH5 (stills and video), but still enjoy the virtues of my compact setups from time to time. Check out my website to see some of my work, including my other interest/business - aerial photography. www.immersed.net.au Edited August 7, 2018 by dave@immersed

jmgahagan 0 Posted August 11, 2018 Hi everyone, My name is Josh Gahagan and I just purchased my first underwater setup several weeks ago so I am brand new to underwater photography! I've been photographing birds and wildlife in the New England region for over 10 years now, and have wanted to try out underwater shooting for years. After some research I decided that the Canon G7x Mark II with a Fantasea housing was the best affordable option to get started with. Currently I've only dabbled in freshwater and have an interest in photographing local fish and other river denizens. Looking forward to this entirely new world of photography, and I have a huge respect for those that exceed with it after only trying it a few times!

Blue tooth shark 0 Posted August 11, 2018 Hi all members of this forum. I am based in Portugal and my actual underwater equipment is around Sony Nex 5n and 6300 on Nauticam housings. In my "anterior life" I have worked a lot underwater with 35 mm and 6x7 cm cameras and also filming on 16 mm. Nowadays I appreciate do play light with this small Sony equipment. And I like to read about all your experience on digital underwater photography.

skiddish9999 0 Posted August 12, 2018 New Member in Florida. I'm currently looking to purchase a housing for a 5dmarkIV so that I can do some artistic underwater and above water shots I have been coming up with. I am also in need of underwater strobes for some of these as well with the capability to be off camera when doing the shot.

smandel 0 Posted August 16, 2018 Hi, I'm a nondiver but love the ocean and I'm worried about the conservation of this critical resource. So I've stated a nonprofit, oceans360.org. We provide 360 and 180 cameras to experienced underwater photographers (I reach out to people whose photography I follow and don't accept applications for cameras, sorry.) The media they gather media for me is turned into virtual reality video and played back on the Oculus Go goggles in museums, aquariums, and schoolrooms.
