Davide DB 418 Posted February 4, 2022 I'm seeing a lot of land shooting from this cinema camera but nothing underwater. Are you all scared from lacking of IBIS?
dreifish 353 Posted February 6, 2022 (edited) I know Alex Del Olmo has been using one for a few months (with a WWL-2 no less), but I don't think his YouTube content is from the camera. He has posted some stuff on facebook. (as for the lack of IBIS -- exactly the same boat as the Canon R5 C, no? :D) Edited February 6, 2022 by dreifish 1

Davide DB 418 Posted February 21, 2022 Thanks, I saw it yesterday and I forgot to post. Mindblowing but there are so many bits of kit used that is difficult to judge the camera itself or at list compare the camera in the same ballpark. Here a first hand review for the camera itself: https://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/60812-canon-c70-user-experience/

dreifish 353 Posted February 22, 2022 Honestly, I was kinda thrown off by the shallow depth of field, not sure I like the look for underwater work. Additionally, in a number of the shots the camera seems to be focusing on foreground particles in the water rather than the main subject, which isn't a great look. Not sure if that's a common problem if leaving it in c-af mode. As far as the color is concerned.. well, it's great. But would like to know more if it's with or without a red filter and with or without the 4x Keldan lights + ambient light filters. And.. fairly sure Alex does significant color correction, so what you're seeing here is the end product of that. Not exactly straight out of camera. In terms of stabilization -- looks pretty ok. Of course the slow motion helps.

Not exactly straight out Yes - as with most of his other works, the colour grading is done by a 3rd party, Lidia Seara https://www.instagram.com/searacolor/ Probably helps a lot when you're also cruise director on a boat! The transparency and colors of a tropical sea are completely different from the Mediterranean Sea. Also I have two Keldan Luna 8 CRI's and have never used blue filters. (I can't even mount them on the Luna's.) so it's such an extreme setup and far from mine that it's really hard for me to appreciate the differences. I hope, sooner or later, to find some Mediterranean examples.
