Labels on Nauticam housing

Recommended Posts

I love my Nauticam housing but hate how the white paint on the engraved labels on the housing fade out over time. How can one replace the lettering? I know that they can do it when you send the housing in for service but what is best way to do this between times? Thanks!

I don't know how you can brighten faded lettering, but if you need to replace missing lettering,  or are willing to remove the faded lettering and reapply, I have two suggestions....a company called Dykem makes paint markers in different versions, including a "high purity" version that is rated for marine use and meets or exceeds the specifications for GE Aircraft Engines and the US Energy Research and Development Administration (nuclear facilities).  They have a range of other grades, in case you don't need "nuclear grade."

Alternatively and less exotic, white appliance paint applied with something like a toothpick might work.  Possibly you would then want to keep the housing waxed or polished to protect the lettering.

I suggest cleaning the surface with diluted alcohol before painting.

Perhaps call Nauticam and ask what they use?  If you do, post their suggestion please.
