Recommendation for Pelicase

Recommended Posts

hi,

what size type of Pelicase do you use or can you recommend for me as checked baggage?

It should fit the following:

- Miroless housing - Nauticam R5

- Macro Port

- Flashes

- diopters

- tool, arm and clamps :)

- Dome / 8,5 Acryl or the WACP maybe :)

Hi, I really like my Pelican 1635 air case, with padded dividers, fits 2x DSLR housings, and strobes/arms/clamps/snoots (for 1 setup) + mini dome, flatport.
The big dome would likely fit instead of my 2nd housing.

I use a Pelican Air 1605 to store and transport my kit, which include a A7RIII housing, macro port, 4inch dome, 8inch dome, camera, lenses and other things. It is a model without wheels but I don't need them as I don't fly or walk long distance with it.

No more Pelicase users :)?

I’ve used a 1510 case for almost 20 years and have hauled it on and off many flights. But that’s cabin baggage sized (sort of!)

Its been excellent.

Probably not what you're asking, but I recently purchased a used Pelican 1650 hard case and place my ThinkPad V2.0 inside which holds my NA850 housing, macro port, camera body, two lenses, two strobes, strobe arms and related hardware and accessories.  There is space around the edges to place my clothes in cubes which provides additional protection from shock.  Total weight is 68 lbs.

My second check in bag contains all scuba gear plus additional off camera strobes, extra batteries, tool kit and spares.

I do this when I have the luxury of checking a second heavy bag on long journeys where I don't want to be lugging the ThinkPad plus a backpack.
