clairegoodwin 0 Posted November 12, 2022 I have the standard go pro housing for my go pro 10. I have been using this on a tray with flexi arms to shoot with two big blue lights but need to upgrade. The flexi arms on the tray aren't up to holding the weight of the lights and the screw on the tray loosens easily. The housing is also having issues in the 20-30 m depth range where the buttons stop working - possibly pressure issue? Any recommendations for tougher housings and trays? For a tray I would like one with 1" ball mounts so I can attach standard arms. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk
TimG 62 Posted November 12, 2022 Hi Claire Take a look at the ULCS range of arms, trays, brackets, clamps and doo-dads. They are very high quality and an excellent "investment". I've been using mine over 20 years and they are still as good as new. 1" ball mounts are standard. Sure, you can buy much cheaper Chinese ones on Amazon if you feel the ULCS ones are too pricey....... On the tougher housing, my partner has the GoPro9 in the standard housing and that works fine at 20m-30m. But maybe the 10 needs something a bit chunkier. I'm sure others on WP will give you lots of recommendations. There are aluminium ones available which are significantly stronger and pressure resistant. Some examples here: https://www.bluewaterphotostore.com/gopro-heor9-hero10-underwater-housings

TmxDiver 41 Posted November 14, 2022 These housings are "bomb proof": https://iqsub.com/gopro-housings/ I've had them down to 100m+. - brett
nomadadv 5 Posted November 14, 2022 isotta is excellent goes all the way down to 200 m thought furthest i went was 105m, sits nicely on a tray and the shutter release mechanism is a bit nicer than the iqsub
gobiodon 62 Posted November 15, 2022 You may consider the aluminium T-housing: https://actionpro.de/product/t-housing-aluminium-housing-for-gopro-hero-9/?lang=en I had one for an actionpro camera and it's well made. You can easily add a try to it.
dpoursanidis 10 Posted November 16, 2022 I have various GoPros, from 4 to 9. GoPro 4 Black (2015) with native housing, works flawless until now down to 50m but flat port. Also a 3rd part housing with Dome Port (=better image quality). GoPro 9 with T-Housing. Build like a tank with accessory for macro lense. Flat port. Not sure what to suggest or not, but now am on the go for another GoPro 9 adding the nice semifisheye INON lense (see the homepage of Wetpixel now). Other options comes from from Isotta (close price to T-Housing) and Hugyfot (pricy but you build an robust system). What is missing is a housing with native dome port ... clairegoodwin 0 Posted November 20, 2022 Thanks! Will check out those housing suggestions! I am not getting leaks but some dives the buttons on housing will stick so they aren't operable. Seems to be on the deeper dives. My colleague has the same issue. Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk That’s a classic depth pressure response. The water pressure is stronger than the resistance in the housing springs. So the control is depressed by the water pressure - plus the user pushing it - and the spring isn’t strong enough to push back after use because of the water pressure. On housings which can be customised for deeper diving, changing the springs on the buttons is the main alteration. Switching a GoPro to a housing designed for the operating depth - or greater - should solve this.
wydeangle 48 Posted November 23, 2022 Claire, The third message in this thread details a solution for the arm/fastener/rotation problem: https://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?/topic/63669-gates-ax700-z90-housing-threaded-ball-mounts-issue/&tab=comments#comment-403788 It's easy and inexpensive. No matter which tray and/or housing you end up with, you may want to do this to prevent aggravation :=) Tom
ChrisRoss 150 Posted November 26, 2022 INON has a range of go pro accesories including wide angle lens adapters. INON gear is normally good quality, might be worth researching them? https://wetpixel.com/articles/inon-confirms-compatibility-with-hero11
