bbcweapons 1 Posted January 3 I'm more a topside photographer who recently inherited dive photo equipment, and due to life and time I can't really catch up with being able to use this gear (not a diver and haven't shot underwater). I think to preserve its sentimentality for the family member who I lost recently, I'll sell it and get a camera or something of sentimentality, I can pass down through family to remember her. Dive gear is heavily specialized, moreso than my out-of-water analog film or digital equipment, so I'm not sure what the best way to approach is. There is a whole setup (subal housing for nikon d7200, lens kit, all the ports/accessories for subal, and 4-5 strobes, some other stuff) and my going assumption is it may make more sense to break it up and sell to whomever needs what, rather than try to offer it as one package. However, the subal housing is custom built FOR the d7200/7100, so maybe a person would buy both.. and want the lenses, and ports, etc. Should I list it altogether or just piecemeal it out? TimG 62 Posted January 3 Yeah, that is always a tough one. Nice for sure to sell the whole package and maybe you could find someone interested. The D7200 with a Subal housing is an attractive package. But, by my experience, selling a whole package is rare and it usually ends up being sold piecemeal. Why not advertise as a package and see what responses you get? Then take it from there.

hyp 104 Posted January 3 If are much more likely to get more out of it by selling bit by bit, but of course there is a risk that items such as the housing itself, which are very specialised end up not finding a buyer. Best to try and sell as a package first, but be willing to be flexible.
davehicks 89 Posted January 3 I would try to sell the Housing, Ports, and Camera body as a package. Sell the Strobes, Lenes, and other accessories separately.

Yeah, I think I'll try whole kit first, then this. Thanks ...one more question, I know how to list used condition of camera.. how to list used condition of strobe and other gear?? I can take video but like, I don't know dive hours these have. I don't mind pricing accordingly but I don't want to misrepresent Edited January 4 by bbcweapons
TimG 62 Posted January 4 Hmmm, good question. On strobes, as you don't know much about them I'd suggest you give an indication of age, cosmetic condition, any discolouration of the flash tube, any dents, dings or scrapes especially to control buttons; confirm the strobe chargea up and post photographs. If the strobe has a battery compartment for disposable or removable rechargeable batteries, I'd include a pic showing the condition of the compartment, ie, no leaks, no damage from leaking batteries. The other gear: if it's not stuff that would be damaged by a leak, (eg, EXRs, zoom rings, arms, clamps), I'd suggest photo(s) showing the item and draw attention to any defect. For the housing I'd take photos from all angles and a couple of shots of the interior of the front and back. Highlight any scrapes or cosmetic damage or discolourations.
