TimG 62 Posted March 10 Guys I'd welcome a bit of guidance please - I'm trying to help a friend with a Nikon Z7 in an Ikelite housing. He's using a Nikkor 16mm FE via the FTZ adaptor but reports focussing issues. Am I right in thinking there is no AF with the Nikkor 16mm FE on a Z body? If so, is that the case too for the Sigma 15mm FE? Is anyone aware of any current FF FE that will AF on a Z body? Many thanks!
dhaas 40 Posted March 10 Tim, My good friend Glenn Ostle has been using his Nikon Z6 cameras in an Ikelite housing for a few years. I think he mostly has new Z lenses (24-70mm and 14-30mm) but uses Nikon macro lenses with his FTZ adapter. He may know as he's been a long time Nikon shooter. I believe he's just back from traveling so try and contact him through his web site link: https://featherandfins.smugmug.com Good luck! David Haas
TimG 62 Posted March 10 Thanks David. I'll give him a shout. A couple of things I found on DPReview indicate that, no AF doesn't work on the Nikkor or Sigma FEs.

This link confirms the 16mm AF-D is a screw type AF lens so it will not focus on the FTZ adapter. https://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/1628af.htm The sigma lens copies the Nikkor and is also screw drive so no good. I suspect he would need the nikon 8-15 lens on the FTZ adapter. You might be able to use a Canon mount sigma fisheye on an EOS-nikon Z adapter as well. TimG 62 Posted March 10 Thanks, Chris. I thought that was probably the case but just wanted to check.
