For Sale Olympus EPL10 and Backscatter AOI housing $850

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Fewer than 3500 activations, nearly new EPL 10 and Backscatter Housing.  Includes 14-42 EZ kit lens; focus ring, housing, flat port and 2 Wasabi batteries and charger and vacuum system hand pump.  All O-rings are good condition and will throw in a backup.   New, retails for $1200+.  Only selling as I have upgraded to an OM-1.  A great rig as an upgrade from GoPro or TG series.

Congrats on the sale. Can I ask a question? What are those little cables inside of the housing for? It looks like they are electronics or something, and they have a Settings button with different colors next to it… I’m using a tg6 and the housing only has physical buttons without any internal cables, and I’m brand new to the more expensive side of the hobby.

That's the vacuum system and flash trigger.

The cable in the housing connects the flash activator in the housing to the hotshoe on the camera.  Essentially, this fires two led's in the housing that power the fiberoptic cables to the strobe.  Your TG 6 housing (if you have one) should have come with a plastic part that helps hold the fiberoptic cable(s) to the white cover of the housing, through which the flash on your camera fires.  You typically buy the fiberoptic cables when you purchase the strobe(s).  See the set up here:

The TG6 is a great rig....enjoy.
