caurro 0 Posted January 29, 2005 Why does not exist a UW case for Panasonic DMC-FX7? I wanted to buy the camera and the UW because it has the image stabilization, in how much I would want to make also of the movies clips. You are to acquaintance of whom it can help me, to make or to find the UW case? I already know digideep.com and the possibility to use the D-CP1 of Ewa-Marine, but it does not interest to me. I can hope to find, in the immediate future, something of similar to DMC FX with UW? In alternative, I had thought next to the Canon Power Shot S1 IS, with its UW WP DC20 or to the A95 with WP-DC50. How they are these cameras? And still, with their UW houses it is possible to use the manual control? Thanks
anthp 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Hi Caurro, It would be nice to have image stabilization (IS) UW, but I certainly don't think it is essential. The water has a naturally stabilizing effect on images anyway and I regularly take shutter speeds down very low without IS. In terms of camera selection, you mentioned that a movie mode is an important feature for you. In that case, you might consider the Fuji F810 which has a good movie mode (30fps), inexpensive housing, the availability of Inon wide lenses and an Inon strobe adaptor. It should produce fantastic quality images UW. Don't forget the importance of wide lenses UW (unless you are only planning on doing macro and fish) If you really want to stick to Canon, the A95 isn't a bad option, but unlike the F810, it doesn't offer a RAW mode, which is very useful for post-processing UW pictures at home. Apart from the IS, I don't really think the S1 and FX7 would be my first choice to house. Hope this helps...
