pmooney 6 Posted March 14, 2005 Wondering if any one has used or is using one of these marvels ?? I had a look at one of the Leica versions on the week end and was really impressed with the simple style. Apparantly the Hugy people have housings available for D70 , D100 , 300D with them to soon come for D2X and 20D - whos using them ???????????
jordi 3 Posted March 15, 2005 Hi, I have a friend who owns a Hugy D100 housing. It's compact and very ergonomic. He is very happy and now I've just bought a D70 Hugy housing. It is a wonderful housing, but I've just received it yesterday and I still haven't dive it. Best Jordi
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Hugy housings are most popular in mainland Europe - so we tend not to hear about them that much on this English speaking forum! For my money they are excellent housings. Alex
manatee19 5 Posted March 15, 2005 I think that the only brand on the market older than Hugy was the Franke and Heidecke Rolleimarin... or maybe Ike predates the latter. A few years ago in the Caribbean, the captain of a liveaboard was using a borrowed Hugy for the N90s/F90x. He told me that it was the best housing he ever used with this camera. I never worked with one personnally but looking at the satisfaction level of Hugy fans I understand that it is a great product. My personal note regarding the Hugys has always been the shutter release and handles... or absence of the latter on the right side of the unit. Being a long time Aquatica user, I tend to favour straight handles and shutter release levers that are akin to what I am used to. Alex is right, Hugy is way more popular in EC, has to do with distributorship I guess. Michel
Matetes 0 Posted March 15, 2005 Hi, A couple of month ago, digideep published a story about a housing being bitten by a tiger shark, somewhere around the Bahamas.... Remember? The bitten housing was/is a Hugy and is still working very well.... Matetes
