ssra30 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Could someone please tell me what size Nexus wetmount diopter would I need for the Subal FP-FC105 port? Thanks
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Lots of people in the UK have them for Subal housings. Ocean Optics do them in the correct size - I don't know what this is though. Nexus Wetlens
ageffen 0 Posted March 29, 2005 Measure the diameter of the port. Contact Woody at www.nexusamerica.com
ssra30 0 Posted March 29, 2005 I don't have the Subal port yet as it won't arrive with my housing sometimes by the end of April or early May. I know that Nexus diopter comes in 90mm,100mm and 110mm diameter, I believe. Could someone tell me what is the diameter of the Subal FP-FC105 port? The local Nexus dealer only sell Nexus so he does not know Subal's diameter either. Ideally I would like to start ordering everything now and get my goody bag ready as soon as the housing arrive :-)
mandarinfish 0 Posted March 29, 2005 The 110mm size is what I have and use with my FP-FC105 port.
MikeO 5 Posted March 29, 2005 Another useful note. If one of the stock sizes does not fit, order the 90mm or 100m one (cheaper than the 110mm). Then remove the dipoter from the flexible skirt (the glass diopter portion is the same for all models). Buy an extra cover/protector for your flat port (or a suitable sized replacement from someplace like Niagara Plastics), cut a hole in the middle and insert the diopter. That's what I did for my Sea&Sea custom macro port and it works really well! Mike
Stewart L. Sy 12 Posted March 29, 2005 I have the 110 on my Subal, ditto on calling Woody. woody@nexusamerica.com www.nexusamerica.com Stu
ssra30 0 Posted March 29, 2005 thanks for the info. Mike, thanks for the tip. I already have the 90mm version for my Sea and Sea port, let see if my engineering skill is up to the task I certainly could use some cheaper alternative after spend it all on the new camera setup!
