littlemermaid 0 Posted April 18, 2005 This is a camera issue, but thought someone might be able to share their insight...used my Nikon D100 this weekend underwater and was fine, then on the way home took it out of the housing to take some surface shots and noticed that once the camera goes to sleep, it won't come back on when you half press the shutter button (or any button for that matter)....hence won't take a picture. I tried several lenses and all do the same thing, and now it is also happening inside the housing (no pictures on one whole dive and then other I just had to keep taking them to keep the camera awake). We are heading to Egypt in 10 days, so I am stressing over sending the camera in vs buying a 2nd camera...any ideas what is wrong?? I am waiting to hear from Nikon.... Thanks! james 0 Posted April 18, 2005 Hi Mermaid, The first thing I would recommend is to check your firmware version and update if it's not the most recent. Other than that, I've never encountered that problem w/ the D100 so can't help. Cheers James
davephdv 0 Posted April 19, 2005 I've never had that problem either. You might try the universal cure for digital cameras and take the battery out overnight and see if you still have a problem. I second body is a good idea. I would think you could get a good price on a used one.
UWPhotoTech 0 Posted April 19, 2005 First try resetting all of your Custom Functions through the Menu. If that does not solve the problem then check for a stuck or shorted control button.
