jenkinsd 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Hello everyone After spending hours reading reviews, on how good the Nikon D70 is, or should I go for a higher end DSLR like Canon ID Mark II. I decided to widen my search. I am now considering buying the Canon 20D. Why?? because it is between the D70 and ID Mark II in performance. And, a least if i decide to upgrade in the future I will have canon lenses. Where as if I go to a D70, I will have to stay with Nikon. Plus, I buy a lot of Printing equipment from Canon and they will give me a good deal. I still have a lot of questions. Has anyone any food for thoughts that I should consider before sending in the PO for the canon. Any recommendations for lenses in Tropical Waters. What housing to go for, the Ikelite seems cheap, does Housing have effects on the image quality? Also, external flashes? Any recommendations? Many thanks everyone
james 0 Posted July 12, 2005 Hi Jenkinsd, You are asking a few questions that have been answered in-depth here in the past. Rather than have us retype all of that again :-) you should do a search here for "20D housing" or "20D Strobes" or a combination of the above. You will find a WEALTH of information already posted here, as well as two in-depth reviews recently posted on the homepage. Some popular choices (and one that seems like a good mix to me) are: 20D and 100mm USM Macro and 10-22 Wide Zoom Aquatica 20D housing Ikelite DS125 strobes Cheers James
thatporchdawg 0 Posted July 12, 2005 I'd probably recommend one of shorter length macro lenses in addition to what james recommended. Either the new Canon 60mm or the Sigma 50mm macros.
