CF Cards Speeds and photoworkshop.com

Recommended Posts

I have gone a head and ordered my Canon 20D and a few lenses today, all to be here of Friday. Although i can't see me getting it in the water for a few months. Cant Wait.

:D

This few months will give me time to brush up on my photography, and how to use a SLR camera

I got a great deal, only paid £650 for the body. Lenses were not all that cheap.

I need to buy some CF cards for the camera, anyone have any idea's as to what speed and make of CF card i should purchase, for the Canon 20D

Many Thanks

Danny

Go to www.robgalbraith.com and click on CF Card Database.

Choose the 20D from the dropdown menu.

Look at the fastest cards tested in the 20D and get one of the cheaper ones.

I am really not sure I understand this. I looked at the speeds on that website, and found the highest right speed was 5-6MB per second.

How could i shoot 5FPS if the card will not even wright that fast? or does it store it in a cache?

The reason i ask is, i am going to shoot a Mondello Park to photography bike racing for a freind, And I want to get as many shots as possible as he is on that bend.

The camera stores the images in the internal memory buffer, you can hold down the button until the buffer is full. At the same time, the camera writes out the data from the buffer to the CF card.
