davephdv 0 Posted October 23, 2005 Would that 16-70 focus to 1:1 macro at the 70mm focal length?
Rocha 0 Posted October 24, 2005 Would that 16-70 focus to 1:1 macro at the 70mm focal length? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I really don't think this lens (if real) will be 1:1 on any length, but if this is the case I will get one for sure! Also, Nikon already has 3 DX lenses in this general focal length (18-70, 18-55 and 17-55), I don't see much reason for another one. A fast 10-2X (twenty something) would be sweet. davephdv 0 Posted October 24, 2005 I don't expect one. It's just been my dream lens since I started UW photography.
Rocha 0 Posted October 25, 2005 All right, for those waiting and waiting, hold your breath, the announcement is very close. The name D200 is starting to appear in official Nikon pages, here is the link for a Nikon page in Sweden for a yet-to-be-released update of Picture Project: http://nikoneurope-se.custhelp.com/cgi-bin...li=&p_topview=1 It is not in English, but anybody can tell that the major upgrade for version 1.61 is to add support to D200 NEF files. segal3 0 Posted October 25, 2005 All right, for those waiting and waiting, hold your breath, the announcement is very close. The name D200 is starting to appear in official Nikon pages, here is the link for a Nikon page in Sweden for a yet-to-be-released update of Picture Project: I translated it and what it really means is that you can take two D100 exposures and COMBINE them together for a 'D200' file. anthp 0 Posted October 25, 2005 Oh ripped off! I still think it's not far off though (wishful thinking)

anthp 0 Posted October 26, 2005 Maybe not quite as far away as people think? http://www.nikon.co.uk/press_room/releases...aspx?t=D200&s=
Arnon_Ayal 1 Posted October 26, 2005 Maybe its the real thing this time, the Nikon's site give it some reliability.
Alex_Mustard 0 Posted October 26, 2005 I can't judge much from those pictures (and the link doesn't work so I had to find them on DPReview). But it looks like this camera has D2/F6 AF. LCD looks big and viewfinder small. I hope that Nikon has learned from the past and has planned a short and reliable time between announcement and deliveries. But then while I am wishing, I'd like to walk downstairs and find a Porsche Cayman waiting for me... Alex
Claude 0 Posted October 26, 2005 if this is a fake... I would like to know the people who did that work

Alex_Mustard 0 Posted October 26, 2005 I have seen the higher res images now and they look pretty reliable. http://www.nikon.co.uk/press_room/downloads/447_med.jpg http://www.nikon.co.uk/press_room/downloads/446_med.jpg There is a strange switch on the back I dunno what it is for (at the bottom on the right hand side of the LCD). Any ideas? The bigger question is that this camera looks pretty similar in shape and size to the D100 and D70 - do you think it might squeese into existing housings? I don't think that all the rear controls will line up, but others might. Alex
