mike frens 0 Posted September 13, 2005 I read about trips to guadalupe islands and the white sharks. So far I only heard about guadaloupe in the caribean. So I was surprised to read about white sharks at guadaloupe (I think they are not very common in the caribean). Can anyone inform me about agencies going to the pacific guadalupe islands and apprximate prices going there? Mike Frens.
kcf955 1 Posted September 13, 2005 Guadalupe Is is 150 miles South of San Diego, CA and 150 miles West of Baja. It's roughly a 23hr boat ride from San Diego for the White shark trips. Most trips are 5 days with 3 days of actual cage diving and two days of boat travel. I did a bunch of research on which trip to go on this fall and ended up going with Great White Adventures Also San Diego Shark Diving seemed like a comparable operator. Prices for 5 day trips seem to be around $2500 One of the reasons I went with GWA was they offered a 7 day trip and had heard good things from past customers. Also, I talked to the owner over the phone and he seemed to have a passion for these trips and is not just another dive trip organizer. Keith
Rocha 0 Posted September 13, 2005 Hi Mike, I moved your topic to this area because I think it will get more feedback here. Anyways, there are two Guadalupe Islands. Guadaloupe is a French territory in the Caribbean Lesser Antiles, just south of the Virgin Islands. Guadalupe is a Mexican territory located in the eastern Pacific, Keith gave the coordinates above.
