DxO updates the Nik Collection
DxO has released a significant update to the Nik Collection of plugins. The company bought the suite from Google in 2017 and has rewritten the code to allow the apps to be fully compatible with Adobe CC and newer operating systems. The Nik Collection 2018 consists of the same seven apps as the original collection.
DxO acquires the Nik Collection
DxO has purchased the Nik Collection assets from Google. The new owner plans to continue to offer the existing Nik Collection as free plugins, but will be developing new versions for release in mid-2018. The company has already incorporated Nik’s U Point technology into their new PhotoLab (previously DxO OpticsPro) RAW conversion software. The existing Nik Collection can be downloaded after supplying an email address.
DxO releases OpticsPro 10
DxO has announced an upgrade to their OpticsPro image processing software. Version 10 features a “haze reduction” tool called ClearView, which could be an interesting tool underwater, as well as an upgraded version of their PRIME noise reduction process. OpticsPro 10 has improved its boot speed and will now also support DNG files, enhancing compatibility with Adobe’s products.
