  1. Thanks folks, that's great to hear! It'll be used with my 5dII as well... Happy clikn and safe divin' John
  2. Can anyone who has used this lens and dome combo report their experience? I'm searching for something wider than my 17-40, and curious as to the less expensive alternates to the Canon 14mm. From what little I've been able to find on the 'net, the Sigma 14mm has some troubling reports, and while I'm not sue I want a FE Lens I'm curious to the 15mm's application with the outfit... General observations and any particular issues with vignetting and/or corner sharpness are most welcomed. Thanks!! John
  3. Awesome folks, thank you so much for the input and suggestions, I feel much better :-D Happy and safe shooting to you all! John
  4. I have a bit of a concern...I will be hopping on the boat and cruising the western Bahamas for about 5-7 days here in a few weeks, mostly for relaxing and fishing. I'd like to get in the water with my Canon 5DII Ikelite housing/8" dome, probably every day to do some photography, as we'll be around sharks, shipwrecks, and general beautiful u/w locations. But I really won't be able to do anything more for my gear than a good freshwater rinse after each splash during this time. Would you feel okay assembling the camera/housing and leaving it assembled during the whole week, with nothing more than periodic rinses, or is this not a wise idea to leave the o-rings compressed for this length of time? I appreciate your thoughts, thanks! John
  5. Hey folks, thought I'd post this here before trying on eBay I bought this device (it's only the round plexiglass part in the pic-not the cable) to use with my Canon A590 P&S and my Nikonos SB-102 flash, and it worked great. I used it underwater one time, and have since upgraded my whole setup to a DSLR so it's no longer needed. If you don't know, this device attaches to the end of your nikonos strobe cable, and when you mount it externally to your housing (see above sample pic) it will trigger the nikonos flash via the P&S flash in-housing, and utilize TTL technology. It's pretty amazing. It sells for $159 new (at Reef Photo in USA), I'll sell it for $100 shipped and paypaled to anywhere in US. I may need to look at shipping to outside US to add additional shipping costs. I have 100% ebay rating, just search so_fl Here's the manufacturer's Site: (note there's a PDF manual here too): HW Digital Adapter Here is the manufacturer's camera compatibility list: HW Cameras Shoot me an email if you have any questions. Thanks! John
  6. Hey there SurfsUp, I'd be interested in the lens. I'm also in Miami (live down south in Palmetto Bay area). Would it be possible to get together and conduct the transaction (seems silly to mail when I can drop off $$ and pick up the lens)? Please let me know when you can (either here and/or email or call via the phone number on my website listed in my sig here), thanks! John
  7. Can you not edit your original posts on this board?? Can't seem to be able too... ANYWAY, sold the 1DMKII on Ebay, thanks! John
  8. I'm moving to a dSLR setup, so I'm selling a used Canon A590 IS 8MP camera. I'm the second owner. Camera functions perfectly, and LCD and lens is great. There's a small cosmetic scratch on the front casing near the logo "4x" (you can see in the picture.) Also selling the matching virtually Brand New Ikelite Housing for the camera. I bought the housing last month from B&H new for $285. I used it on one 15' deep ocean dive 1x, worked perfectly. Basically it's a new housing complete with everything it came with (deflectors, caps, manual, yadda yadda). Combo Price is $300 firm shipped to anywhere in US, Paypal only. I'm also placing the ad on ebay. Please search my username "So_fl", I have a 100% rating buying and selling many thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment over the last 6+ years. If you're interested, please search here as I'm also selling an INON UWL100 and Dome unit that goes perfectly with this camera :-) Thanks!
  9. I'm moving to dSLR setup and am selling this great wide angle lens and dome setup. I'm the second owner, and have used the combo in the ocean one time. The INON UWL-100 Type 2 lens is mounted to the Dome unit. Upon purchasing the unit last month, I separated the UWL from the dome, inspected and lightly greased the o-rings and reassembled. Everything is in great condition, and the glass on both the Dome and UWL lens is pristine. The auction comes with both UWL-100 and Dome and the neoprene cover for the dome. Please ensure that your housing and camera can take this 67mm threaded lens combination. Price for this combo, which sells new collectively for over $700, is $425 shipped anywhere in the US. Paypal only. I'm also placing this item on ebay. Please search there for my username "So_fl"; I have a 100% rating buying and selling many thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment over the last 6+ years. I used this UWL and Dome on the Canon A590 setup which I have also listed for sale. Thanks for looking, please let me know if you have any questions, thanks! John
  10. EDIT: Shutter count! I just confirmed the 1D MKII's actual shutter count via "CanCount", and it's reporting 22,000 actuations. Sorry for the misinformation in the original post, I was going by the file number which is clearly not correct. Thanks!
  11. I have a Mint/Like New Canon 1D MKII w/5,000 actuations (my backup camera, only used shooting a few weddings and is in impeccable shape) that I'd like to see if I could trade (plus/minus cash) towards an underwater system. If anyone's interested in one of Canon's pro SLR's in mint condition and has an U/W dSLR setup they'd like to part with, I'd love to discuss details. Camera comes with battery and Canon charger. I'm pretty flexible in what I'm looking for, however I prefer to stay with a Canon dSLR-any non-pro body 8MP and higher, with appropriate housing and ports if possible. OR, (although this might not make any sense-but you never know!) if anyone has a housing for a Canon 1DsMKII which theyd like to trade for the camera (with cash obviously), please let me know! Thanks! Oh, search my Ebay username so_fl for 100% rating John
