  1. Purchased the small FishEye LED and need something bigger.. Anyone???
  2. Let me pose a question... What happens old equipment with either policy. I have a Fuji S2 in a Subal w/ SB105's... I realize they prob could find a S2, but since it does analog TTL if they couldnt replace it my SB105's would be worthless. And if they cant find a Subal housing??? Lots of if's, but I am curious how that would be handled, since my equipment is pretty much a package deal Scott

  7. Ok, I think this one is solved... Fred @ Backscatter (such a great guy) has me ohm out the pins.... Looking closely, the blue wire (sync) was severed where it wraps around the plastic clamp right before it connects to the circuit board.... I think its a bad design, but oh well... It is going back to him as I dont want to mess with soldering a cut wire Hopefully that will fix it Thx to all that responded....
  8. Drew, I just checked that, and it does have the selectable config. It is set on TTL (5 pin). The previous owner shot w/ DS-125's from Ike, which are Analog TTL compatible... Fred @ backscatter is stumped as well... I was hoping not to have to send the housing in for repair
  9. A update. I went to helix in Chicago and we verified multiple sync cords, SB-105's and bodies. The camera will sync with a land flash, as well as the internal flash. The previous owner used Ikelite flash's... Again, they will fire, just not sync or give me a flash ready HELP!
  10. Drew, When you say switching to manual, do you mean in the subal housing??? Confused
  11. Picked up a used Subal for my S2 Pro from someone I know takes good care of the product. I have 2 bodies and 2 SB105's. I can not get the sync light to come on the S2. I only have one sync cord to try, but I did try both ports. The same setup used to workin my Ikelite..... The connectors for the strobe in the housing is set to TTL... Thoughts???
  12. Call me paranoid (yes I am) but I will be taking some long and expensive trips in the near future... I will be shooting a Fuji S2 in a Subal, with a spare body... I found on Craigslist a SeaLife DC800 w/ Strobe for $450.00.... Is it worthy to buy as a 3rd backup??? I know zip about SeaLife Thx!
  13. Well I broke down and found a great deal on a used Subal S2 housing with a S2 to boot! Found a used port and now just getting the rest of the stuff. Due to the age of the S2 Ikelite, they can not upgrade to the 4 clamps on the port or the hotshoe...... So it will just get a regular service and then for sale or just part it out.... I have 3 ports that will go up for sale and a bunch of sync cords....
  14. Looking to buy a Dome Port (SWB /3 for a 12-24mm ) for a Subal Housing and a single or dual Nikonos (both ends) sync cord.. Please email me @ sdoniger@jamsystems.com Thx!
  15. I beleive I have 4 ports... My lens's are 10.5 FishEye, 20mm, 60mm and 105mm
  16. Well I think Ike is now out of the question... I wanted to have the re-build done with the 4 cam-lock's and the extra hot-shoe, but because it is a older housing I am out of luck and they cant do it.... I just dont like the 2 Cam Lock thing. I had it set in there, tested it and the damm o-ring on the port mushed it self out... It was a brand new o-ring... So It's the subal for 600 w/o Ports (including S2) or the S&S in the above thread...... Would love to go to a newer nikon, but I have 4 SB105's and would be worth nothing..... I love the new Ike Strobes but big $$$$ (well isnt this hobby big $$?) Just blew money on a new Uwatec Gallelo as my 8yr old Uwatec died...... (nice trade in program tho!)
  17. I had heard the older plastic housings were not as good as the new ones... That is my only worry.... See the thread of the gent who is selling it here... http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showt...rt=#entry230623
  18. Hmmmm Someone here is selling a Sea and Sea housing with all the goodies........ Dont know anything about sea and sea tho....
  19. Alot will be decided once I talk to BackScatter tommorow and price things..... You are 100% right on the ergo on the Subal! The Ikelite is a beast... I just loved the S2 for the TTL... I do get a histogram tho... Gotta stay nikon because of the lens's tho.... What are your (and others) opinions of the Ikelite vs Subal in performance and reliability. I know Ikelite's service is great, but that could because that do alot of service The decision will be made this week as Indonesia is calling in Jan and I need something reliable! I went over my receipts and found I paid $1400 for my first S2 and that was EBay!!!!! YIKES!!!!! For now it all comes down to reliability between Ikelite and Subal..... I would snarf a Aquatica in a second if I could find it.... Thanks again!
