  5. I will be there on Sunday going with some friends from Divernet. I will be wearing my "I love trees" T-Shirt (can't miss it), say hi if you see me. Is it me or has the bar been getting really expensive at the show the past few years?
  6. Thanks kind of you to say.. Keep you eye open I'm working on some new tutorials. if you have any ideas for future tutorials please let me know and I will be happy the help.
  7. Thanks for all the advice guys. What I’ve decided to do is buy the 400D (well at the price its a must really) and use it for a while as an above water camera so I can learn to operating a DSLR (never even used a SLR before) and carry on using my compact system for my underwater stuff as it served me well and I know it works. It may even be that I decide to upgrade the 400D when it comes to buying the housing or even just upgrade to another compact, as they seem to be getting better and better every year. Anyway off to order my Canon now. Cheers again
  8. I'm a Mac bod but try this http://wetpixel.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=15163
  9. HELP! I’m about to make the massive leap from compact to DSLR. My compact is great but only after about 1 ½ years I feel I’ve done all I can with it and need to move on. I’ve already decided on Canon but trying to work out if I should go for the 30D or with the 400D just out, I should look at that. The price tag on the 400D looks very tempting indeed. Is the 30D that much better camera than the all new 400? I’m not a pro and don’t intent to be but I do understand by getting into underwater DSLR’s I will need to sell my soul for all the gear I will need, and will a few extra £’s or $’s make much of a difference anyway? Has the 400D got everything I will need to keep me interested as a very keen amateur for a bit more than a few years, or should I bite the bullet a pay up for the 30D?
  10. It colour corrects and takes away the blue in the image, the action is available to download on my site: http://www.lovetodive.net/Lovetodive/Photo...20Tutorial.html Top of the page on the right in blue "download underwater action here" just under the page title. Load it and give it a go, let me know what you think.
  11. Looks like iPhoto (which is free on a new Mac) for Windows, go for it. For the basics it looks OK.
  12. People also get "hacked" versions for their Mac's... But true in 15 years I've only ever seen 2 viruses and all they did was sit there nothing cashed or stoped working, but the time will come..
  13. What is it exactly you are trying to do??? Maybe I can help? OS 9 was released in 1999 and was superseded in 2002 and as such has been officially unsupported since Dec 2001 with the final release of 9.2.2.. In effect you are using an OS which was released at the same as Windows 98. Obviously since then the Mac OS has progressed and now being based on Unix is one of the most stable and secure operating systems in the world, as a result all the Apps have had to go through a major revision and development to keep up with applications and the core technologies underpinning the OS.. As a result H264 playback is only available in OS X versions of QuickTime due to it's reliance on key technologies.. http://www.apple.com/quicktime/player/specs.html You should find older versions of Quicktime here however: http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=quicktime The classic (OS9) version of windows media can be found here but I have no ideas a to the full extent of CODEC support http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsme...71/default.aspx Again due to the core technologies built into OS X a lot of the graphics work in Photoshop is handled but the GPU rather than the CPU hence new versions...
  14. You know I did in the final version but never updated the tutorial, just me being lazy really. But thanks for the feedback. Would you like me to send you the page as a PDF?
  15. Hi Guys I’m new here and thought I would say hello by giving you a little Photoshop tutorial, I’ve been taking underwater photos for a little while (only a year or two) but have been using and teaching Photoshop for a few years now. 16. Hellooooo Who am I you ask? I'm Saeed, I live in the UK on the south coast about 5 mins dive from the sea which is great. I work as a design lecture in a university. Most of my diving is warm water in the Red Sea. I've been a contributor on dive forums for a while and was pointing in this direction by a friend on divernet, so I signed up. I’ve been diving for a bout 6 years but only started taking photo a few years ago, so I’ve got loads to learn and I hope to pick up some tips and info here, and really looking forward to some great discussions with you all. I’ve got a site if any of you want to look. www.lovetodive.net Cheers
