  2. I have a set of (3) XIT404 twist clamp tripod legs and a SLR housing bracket for sale. The housing bracket has the attachment hardware for a Subal housing, but I suspect you could change that easily to fit other housing brands. This is an amazing and clever system and well worth it if you are contemplating doing any kind of video work. This set is brand new, never used. I won it in a contest and never used it because I already had a set! I'm asking $625 plus actual shipping and insurance. PayPal and US shipments only please. Please check the photos. Thanks for looking.
  3. Up for sale is my backup Subal dome port FE2- for the older type 2 Subal housings. Glass is in very good shape. There is a little water staining on the back side of the port (not the glass) as well as my name in indelible marker, but overall the port is in really good condition. I'm asking $600 plus actual shipping and insurance. PayPal and US shipping only please. Thanks for looking.

  6. Folks I'm selling my much loved 4-year old Subal ND800 housing which has the Type 4 port size. It is in top condition, has never been dunked, flooded, dinged or drowned. I have really looked after it and it has produced some cracking images for me. It comes complete with the original box and accessories. I'm looking for £2250/2500/$3000 which would include shipping in the EU - anywhere else negotiable. Photos attached. For more info, PM me. I also have a Nikon D800 for sale which I am listing separately. I'd be happy to do a deal if you are interested in the housing and camera. Thanks! Tim
  7. Hey Wetpixelers! Does anyone have a Subal type 4 EXR20 lurking around that they no longer need and would like to sell? If so, I'm interested...... Thanks!
  8. Looking dome port Subal DP-SWB/3 in good condition without scratches, scuffs and cracks.
  9. Having moved to the Subal V3 TTL board, I'm selling the V2 board that I have used with my Nikon D500 system. I've used the board with Inon Z240 strobes via fibre optic. The TTL results have been excellent. You can turn the TTL feature on and off underwater easily. The board will work with various other strobes including Sea&Sea YS-D1, D2, YS-250; Inon Z240, D2000, S2000 and Ikelites DS161 and DS61. The board can be used with either fibre optic connectors or electrical - both obtainable separately. If you have a Nikon camera with no built-in strobe, eg the D500, D5 or D850, this board will initiate the strobes for you. Price is £195 + postage For more info PM me
  10. Hey fellow Wetpixelers! I'm re-advertising my Subal ND800 housing which I'd like to sell. I also have a Nikon D800 to sell with it. Actually two camera bodies are available if you are keen! The housing is in perfect condition, well-used, much-loved and never dinged, chipped, flooded or abused as you can see from the attached images. Similarly the camera which has just under 9000 actuations and has always been used in the housing. I have more images available which I can send email if you contact me. The equipment is located in Netherlands but I can get it to the UK easily and expect to be in the US this summer. Price is £1950/USD2500/€2200 for the housing; and £700/USD900/€775 for the Nikon D800. I'd be happy to do a deal for housing and camera(s); and would also be happy to include with the housing a Vivid Sentinel Series 4 vacuum valve (not shown in images) and the manual pump etc. All boxes, manuals and original bits and pieces included for both housing and camera(s). The second D800 body has a slightly higher actuation count and would cost slightly less. Shipping costs dependent on location. Payment by bank transfer or PayPal (buyer pays charges). This housing has been brilliant and I have got some cracking images out of it especially using the D800's built-in flash to trigger strobes by fibre optic cables. With my Inon Z240s this gave me very good TTL. If you are serious about an FX housing, I can heartily recommend this Subal - the Rolls Royce of housings at a bargain price!

  14. I'm selling this beautiful Subal housing which I used only for several projects. The housing is in perfect, like a new condition. Subal did an amazing job on their new product line and this housing is probably the best I ever worked with. I'm a professional photographer and this housing was always well looked after. Its a great piece of equipment for anybody who is looking for a top-class housing for Nikon D5. Price € 2799 please email on info@georgekarbus.com
  15. I am selling my D800 body with the Subal housing body. Camera pix below. The housing is presently at Reef Photo getting its final maintenance check and reinstalling the standard viewfinder. I'll post photos of the housing as soon as it is returned. Caveat(s): Subal issued a retrofit for the back of the housing a couple of years ago because the buttons were sticking. There is no problem since the retrofit, but you do have to work the buttons some after a day's diving. I do that anyway with every housing, just makes sense. The camera has never been flooded, but the housing has been, quite a while ago ( worn port o-ring). Luckily, the flood was an hour away from Reef Photo, so it had a full checkup and moisture alarm replacement within the afternoon. ( The camera was toast, I am selling the replacement Nikon D800.) I've been using the setup ever since with no issues. I've included a photo from my last trip with it, three weeks ago. It is a 36 megapixel camera, full frame, with everything it came with, box, manuals, DVD, camera strap, battery charger, two batteries. The housing is set up for fiber optic cables (two), and standard viewfinder. Selling them both together for $2300.
  16. A couple of weeks ago a Wetpixel reader emailed me directly and asked for my experience of moving from a Nikon D800 to the D500 specifically in a Subal housing. The reader thought the answer would be of wider interest to WP readers - so here it is. As I say, this is based on my own personal experience. I'm no pixel peeper or techno ninja - I just really like taking pictures underwater - so some might argue with techie detail or my choice of gear. Fair enough! "I’ve always been a keen macro shooter. Since about 2008, I've moved from a Nikon D300/Subal to the Nikon D800/Subal - and now the D500/Subal. I’ve also moved from electrically initiated strobes fired from the D300/Subal to fibre optic in the D800/Subal. I found the switch to fibre a really good experience. Fibre is so much more flexible and rugged and is easier for using TTL - which I like especially for macro. I make the point on strobes connections as I think it’s an important part of the D800/D500 consideration. FORMAT Both the D500 and the D800 are superb! I found with the D300/D500 and a DX sensor that using the Nikkors 60mm and 105mm worked well for macro. But with the D800 you only need the 105mm. With the FX sensor on the D800 the 60mm is too short. So with the D800 I only traveled with one macro lens and one port, the Nikkor 105mm and the Subal FP-105VR. I have got so used to the 105mm that, so far, with the D500 I’m only using the 105mm and have not gone back to using a 60mm. The D800 gives you LOADs of pixels which makes cropping easy and flexible - ideal for macro; and you can also switch to a DX image (with the Subal you can do this easily underwater) on the D800 which, then, effectively gives you a roughly 160mm macro lens - with no real loss of quality. So highly flexible. HANDLING Handling of the D500 or D800 is, in my view, broadly the same. The D800 Subal housing is slightly bigger (it’s slightly taller - for good reason which I’ll explain) but not hugely so. The controls between the two Subal housings are pretty much the same - the usual Subal high-build quality and superb “feel”. STROBES AND TTL Here’s the big difference: the D800 can fire strobes using fibre or electrical cables (although mine is only set up for fibre) initiated, in the case of fibre, by the camera’s pop-up built-in flash (hence the slightly larger housing). Electric connections use, of course, a hot shoe link to electrical bulkheads. However the D500 cannot initiate firing strobes on its own via fibre optics. There is no built-in camera flash on the D500. You therefore have to buy a strobe initiator - whether the Subal V3 system or a Turtle TTL or something like that. The electronics fits inside the housing and connects to the camera hot shoe and then to LEDs fitted inside the housing attached to the fibre optic bulkheads. When the camera fires, the strobe initiator flashes an LED which then activates the strobes. These initiators, in most cases, will also give you TTL - which comes automatically with the D800’s in-built flash. I bought the V3 system from Subal which is pricey but seems good - although I have had some initial problems with the LEDs failing - which Subal have replaced. WIDE-ANGLE The other thing I really liked about the D800 was WA shooting. I find the images amazing: sharp, beautiful colours - especially the blues. I have sold a lot of images from this especially from trips to the Red Sea. I’ve not yet had chance to test out the D500 in the same way but I really hope I don’t lose that D800 WA capability! SUMMING UP So, on balance, nothing really to chose from between the D500 and D800 by my experience so far in terms of image quality or handling. The only thing I would flag up is the additional cost of the D500 strobe initiator - which, as I have hopefully explained, you don’t have with the D500 and which you do get with the D800. I’ve had my D500 system about 3 months and have done one trip with it and shot about 3000 images. I’m really pleased with it. Was it really worth switching from the D800 with all the costs involved? Honestly, I’m not sure. The D800/Subal is superb. If I had realised fully the implications of the D500 not having a built-in flash to initiate the strobes via fibre optics (which I love!) - and the costs involved of doing this - I’m not entirely sure I would have made the switch. "

  21. I have a COMPLETE "walk in the water and use it" Subal setup for a Nikon D300/200. The D200 and 300 housing is the same. I have the backs and plates for both cameras. Includes camera and zoom gears, dome port, 2 flat ports, extension port, 2 Ikelite DS125's with TTL and arms and pretty much everything needed to just walk into the water. I'd rather sell it as a complete unit to somebody who wants it rather than part it out on ebay etc. Also have Nikon 14mm wide and 60mm & 105mm macro with zoom gears etc., Fisheye focus light. There is a super close-up "macro mate" for the 105 port. With the foam on the arms it is neutrally buoyant with the dome port on it. If anyone is interested please respond and I can put together more photos and a complete inventory. Includes Pelican case. This new was probably $10K. I need to sell this so make me an offer I can't refuse. Located in Washington (state) in USA. Last used a year ago. Well maintained with extra O rings etc. Would like to get $5K.
  22. For Sale: Subal N10 Housing (type 3 port mount) for Nikon F100 Asking Euro 300 obo One owner since new, well cared for, climate-controlled storage, maximum 60 dives, never flooded, normal bumps and scrapes around the base area. In Hong Kong but will try ship worldwide. Does not include camera or ports. If you really need a flat port for 60mm or 105mm lens, let me know and we might be able to discuss something. Message me if you're interested. Mark
  23. Anyone looking to sell a type 4 (or maybe type 3) Subal dome port? Most interested in mini dome and 8" (in that order) but considering my options... Also potentially interested in extensions. Thanks!
  24. For Sale: Subal Housing for Nikon D300. Original owner and never any problems (no floods). For routine maintenance, I recently had all internal O-rings replaced, serviced, and pressure tested (over 60 O-rings!) by Backscatter. Included is a TTL converter, Dome Port, Flat (macro) port, and various rings to allow for different size lenses, cable for TTL controller, 2 sync cords for strobes, 2 ball mounts for strobe, and neoprene dome cover. In addition, I will throw in a Nikon 12-24mm lens with zoom gear AND at Think Tank Airport International rolling bag. Nikon camera, strobes, and arms are NOT included. Although the D300 camera has been around for awhile, this camera continues to be a great workhorse. In general, I am a person who loves to upgrade but I've been so happy with this set up I've stuck with it for years. If you want great results for a fraction of what a brand new camera and system costs, this is it. I hate to let this go, but I recently upgraded to new, smaller system to shoot more video. At first I thought I'd keep this for back up now thinking I won't really use it (just went to Bonaire and it stayed home, seems wrong just sitting there). I just know someone can use this to get great results. Have a look at some of the photos I've created with this system, all underwater pics here were taken with this system. Here is link to photos: www.weatherallphoto.com (click Gallery and the click Underwater). $1,800 US dollar for everything. Will cover the shipping cost to USA address.
